Well if you watched the gamejam video they showed completely dark dungeons which I feel should have been in the game to start with.

I mean, they go through the trouble of adding torches and light spells but you never have reason to use either.

Simple. They realized that 90% of players would complain that they couldn't see ANYTHING in the dungeons. And they ARE in it to make a profit, after all.
