Crystal ponies seem to be a fourth pony type, similar to earth ponies, but they have crystalline eyes and their appearance improves along with their mood.

But what's their schtick? Earth ponies are in tune with naute, unicorns have magic, pegasi have flight and weather control, but what place do the crystal ponies have in Equestria?

Gems. Like earth ponies grow organic things, Crystal Ponies grow and culture inorganic things like gems and crystals, since gems seem to grow like other things in Equestria and there are rock farms and stuff (if Pinkie is to be believed). Maybe Pinkie's family descends from Crystal Ponies, way back.
