• Stellar Cartography startups flourish as the Senate approves a half trillion credit omnibus spending bill to fund exploration of the space around Celes.
• Construction begins on the RCS Harbinger of Dawn, a multi-role 2.5 megatonne cruiser prototype. The stiletto shaped, 650 meter long vessel presents a narrow attack profile, relying on its gently sloping hull to deflect the brunt of oncoming, conventional inertia-based weapons. Point defense weapons and countermeasures dot the ventral and dorsal hulls. Coronal trenches provide recessed cover for the cruiser's 20 primary weapons, quadruple turrets that fire 1-tonne armor-piercing shells. While able to pivot quickly due to the low mass of the bow, the cruiser lacks overall maneuverability and requires minutes to make lateral adjustments. A wing of 108 aerospace superiority fighters is tasked with defending the Harbinger from anything too fast to obliterate with its big guns, as well as continuing the fight in a more intimate, planet-side setting. A small fleet of personnel shuttles and tender ships also live within the yawning ventral hangars.
• Recruitment for the Academy of Naval Sciences is at an all time high as patriots flock to crew the Harbinger.
• The illegitimate provisional government on Bronesbach has been disbanded following broadcasts of the cruiser's construction. Glory to the Republic!
