The Church of Iteus, Round Eleven
    Pontiff Malicha

    Actions
    1. [Philosophy] As the Church grows, so too does the necessity for maintaining secrecy. The local governments of Itea are obviously concerned with this, as anything the Church would wish to hide would likely have a great effect on them. As tighter security is implemented into the Church's positions of power a formal complaint from the Prime Minister of Urbia is filed, requesting an end to the Church's privatization of information. A general election is called by his political rivals following this questioning of the Church, and his replacement is far more accommodating of the Church's desires. (Set 10 LC Bonus: +2 Die Size to Resist Secret Actions)
    2. [Philosophy] The clearly unlawful declaration of war upon the Syndrome by the Church of Rust, though revoked following the withdrawal of Celenian hostilities, has been cause for a general revision of the Church of Iteus' views on their faith. While simple to uproot from wherever their adherents may reside, it has become apparent that their political presence within the 'Federated Churches' is an incredibly violence-craving polity. Allowing them to acquire territory directly adjacent to the Itean system was a grave error, and it is quietly resolved that Sanctum must be removed from their possession if the Church of Iteus is to maintain external security. Until then, the removal of their political influence in Good Odds is a very high priority in order to nullify their cited excuse for warmongering. (Convert Region U19 to Iteusism; Roll: 18; SUCCESS)
    3. [Philosophy] The ascent of a new Urthuun specifically not following the ways of the Church of Iteus is initially viewed as jeopardizing the Church's position among the Rothuun, but the notion is warmed up to following Aneb's statement that he would not attempt to eradicate Itean influence from his homeworld. Still, his commitment to maintaining healthy relations is still under question by many Archdeacons, and to test this the Church begins expansion into some of the Rothuun's newer acquisitions. (Convert Region Q21 to Iteusism; Roll: 14; SUCCESS)
    4. [Intrigue] The status of Sector S17 has long vexed the Church following the Revolution; some sources indicate that it has been explored, others hold no record of it at all, and the only solid data indicates that whatever population it possesses adheres to the Church of Rust. With them indicating their warmongering ways on a grander scale recently, it is decided that this region must finally be addressed and have its status settled once and for all. Any revealed data, however, is kept within the Church. For all we know, the Federated Churches could attempt a violent seizure of the region if discretion is not practiced. (Surveillance on S17; Roll: 17; SUCCESS)

    News and Rumors
    • The reappearance of Caranus at the Kronin event sends shockwaves through the Church. Though Archdeacon Provis was unable to apprehend him, it is an equal blessing that the madman's corpse is not in anyone else's hands. Vigilance will be required to address this heretic in the future.
    • The absurd diplomatic coalition befalling the Syndrome exposes the fragility of the Nephret Pact to the Church's leadership, as well as the dangers of having the rival Church of Rust directly controlling a sector bordering that of the Church. The Syndrome has been strongly advised by Church representatives to cede Region Q23 peacefully, in spite of its potential use as a location from which to study the mechanics of the Revolution.
    • Efficiency Ground, with its probable location revealed far outside the range of the Church and at the hands of other stellar powers, is declared a lost cause for the Church of Iteus to gain any real benefit from. Priorities have been shifted appropriately.
    • While before the core situation has been viewed as a peripheral concern for the Church, there has recently been a massive increase in talk of what is to be done about the Same in order to clear the core for good. It is unclear whether this is the result of closer association with the Rothuun, Caranus' lunacy, or some other more selfish concern hidden from the wider Galaxy.
