Nim decides not to comment that the vow is rather odd. How could someone really fail a vow as open-ended as that? Theoretically it would only be failed at the victim's death. Could the curse ensnare someone as they died? He wouldn't put it past mages or whoever made these things.

Because if the means to do so were, say, 'engage an ancient beast in a brawl to the death' Nim wouldn't be good even with the statue's boon.
