"My interest in the Syrne is tangential to my interest in the findings of the particular groups studying them here." She considered for a moment, then added a little based on her own suspicions. "Word got to my people that something dangerous has been uncovered here. My job is to find out what and secure the research before it can cause harm."

She was taking a bit of a chance on these two. Though they didn't look local, that didn't mean they weren't associated with the group she was looking for. If they where with them though sh might very well be able to track them down by keeping an eye on these two. And if they weren't, they could provide a vital clue for where to look.
