When she reaches the waterfall, it's like the back falls out behind it, and a cavern opens up and water backflows into it. She goes into that cavern. (If someone follows, they'll be ankle-deep in water.

A dozen or so seconds after the woman goes into the cavern, new fog - produced at the base of the waterfall itself - begins being produced. Like before, it's that song again. It's significantly thinner and weaker than it was earlier, downstream, but that's because after everything that happened with Anchor and the shadow, it needs time to build back up.

The mermaid cautiously follows, from a distance. Just in case she's needed.
Well, Anchor feels like she has to follow. That cavern isn't usually there; maybe there are some answers to be found!
She's caraeful stepping into the water, at least.

Her shadow stays by the bottle as it plays out its song, watching the progress of the distorted fog.
