Adir successfully avoid blasting the pooka with his gun!

This is probably good, since repaying its kindness with violence might have unpleasant side effects.

He also successfully puts the waystone back on the ground.

This is likely also good, as you don't want to accidentally throw out your back Adir that isn't fun.

"Maybe?" the pooka offers. "It isn't up to me what the stone wants to charge for its services."

Very true. The pooka has no control over rock tolls. But then again, maybe Adir wasn't talking to the pooka. The creature looks quite thoughtful none the less.

"Oh! I have a good plan. What if I pay the toll for us, but then you pay me back with a favor that ISN'T a precious memory?"

Surely this is the best plan and couldn't possibly have any negative repercussions.

The stone seems to be open to this possibility.
