Vigil VII: Strife Amidst the Clouds

Wenomir puts his hand on Cass' shoulder, noting her nervousness.

"I know it's difficult, but it has to be done. And tying up this loose end will help us both, I think." He does his best to sound confident, but he can't deny it's making him uneasy as well. Then Anika appears, being her usual self, and Reinholdt does... or rather, Reinholdts? At least there's no more waiting.

"Right. This is Anika Sunfletcher, a Vigil member who will be going with us to the expedition. And this is Cassandra, a sorceress from MERC who knows where we need to go. Let's proceed to the meeting room." He peers between the three cats. "Will all three of you be going?"

Wenomir will find Cass' shoulder tense, and she nods stiffly as she's introduced. Noticing Reinholdt's interest in her own feline companion, gestures in his direction.
"This is my... familiar, Rahvi. I will be making use of him in breaching the vault's defenses."

Rahvi responds by assuming his favored humanoid form - that of an middle-aged, wildly attractive South Asian man, with smoky eyes, a hawkish nose, and long, silky black hair and a well-kempt and oiled beard. He's dressed modestly in a manner befitting a medieval officer, with breeches, jacket, and armored shoulders with a sword at his hip, but there's no hiding the nature of what this 'familiar' is, with the demonic tail, horns, and general aura of oozing sex appeal radiating from him like a heady perfume.

Cass tenses slightly more as he transforms, then 'relaxes' again, if she can truly be called relaxed at the moment.
"As you say, Commander," she says, infusing the word with none of her usual verve as she fixes her gaze firmly at the lake, studiously avoiding Wenomir's eyes. "I can explain our... uh... entry strategy once we get there."

From her tone of voice, it's pretty easy to tell that she believes that Wenomir is not going to like it, assuming he isn't already starting to have doubts already, based on Rahvi's presence.

Anika would have asked about Rahvi right away but she was distracted by the bush moving around. "Oh gosh." She declares as she sees the cat emerging from it.

She doesn't rush forward to pet this or the next cat that appears however. She imagined Blanche would find that disrespectful so she imagined these cats might feel that way too. But seeing human cats walking around like that was just so cool.

Then the cat she assumed to be Rein himself walked up, Blanche's dad!
Anika will kneel down in front of Reinholdt and attempt to shake his paw with her both hands. "It's a pleasure meeting you, sir Reinholdt! You should know that I, uh, have a relationship with your daughter and she's pretty great!" Was that coming on too strong? She hadn't met most of the parents of her lovers.

Those dwarves had looked really surprised though...

For now, she's not paying attention to the plan whatsoever.

Reinholdt nods to Wenomir. "That's correct. That won't be a problem, will it?" If it is, well then Rein'll just have to send Rein and Rein away. But will they go quietly? They might have to Nip-Claw-Mouse for which one gets to go.

Cassandra of MERC? Why was MERC involved in this? He gives Wenomir a quizzical glance, but doesn't ask his burning questions. His curiosity can wait until AFTER everything is said and done. But gosh is it going to eat Rein up in the meantime. Especially seeing as how that cat just turned into a DEMON. Is this not a little concerning? Sure... the demon was kind of really hot, even though he doesn't usually swing that way. But still, demon. Rein's pretty wary of those, what with a history of getting burned.

Well, he doesn't have to think about it too hard, as Anika intercedes. The cat in the mobile bush keeps eyes on Rahvi though.
He shakes Anika's hands, though his paw is really too small to exert much force in the matter. "Oh. It's a pleasure to meet you. You are? Which one?" He thinks for a moment. "Oh wait... mmm... Al- I mean, Blanche?" 4 of his daughters weren't a datable age, 4 of them would have relayed that Tobias was their dad, 3 of them Rein doesn't know about, so that just leaves Blanche right? Yeah. Was she here? At VIGIL?

"That's, umm, good to hear." It's awkward, but he does smile sincerely. Honestly he's just surprised that Blanche told her girlfriend who her dad was. Oh wait, was it girlfriend? The tall purple elf described it as 'relationship'. What's that mean? Working? Intimate? Frenemies? Oh Rein hopes it's frenemies. Blanche deserves a person to hate in her life that'll still be there to hold her when it's raining. "Anika was it?" Gotta make sure to remember that name.
