"For Morr's sake, Sieghard, most of them have been dead for a month or more," said Sforza. "Your men won't thank you if you make them carry that cross country." Seeing the determination on Sieghard's face, he relented. "If Abdul thinks we can spare any carts, we'll leave them. But bring them back in one piece. You know Abdul will keep count."

Ludo

Taking the spearhead, Sforza weighed it in his hand, turning it over so it caught the light. For a moment, his attention was so wholly occupied by it that it seemed as if he'd forgotten Ludo was there. Then, at the sound of Ludo's voice, he looked up.

"As a matter of fact, I spoke to their commander just now," he said. "He's volunteered them for grave digging duty." He gave Ludo a curious look. "After that... is there something you were going to request?"
