On one hand Ignacius was happy about the entertainment during the travels. His new allies were a colorful bunch, and the coach ride was too wild for any proper alchemical experiments. On the other hand, they lacked a clear line, a guiding intellect. Ulu was a proper leader, since Vargath did not follow the call, but she was very much too strict for the gnome's taste.

Into a pause of arguing, he interjects: We have a professional demon slayer in our midst. Mayhaps just let her check the coin for the essence of the Abyss, and we should be sure. But if it was in the possession of the imp merchant, it should show up corrupted regardless.

Personally I feel this is an enticement or way to resummon the imp merchant again by putting the halves together.
He looks in amused annoyance at Selissa's try to separate the coins. They'll find back together. In our mindful watch or to someone else's bumbling abilities.

The law was what brought him to this pitiful existence. Law followed strictly to the letter, ignoring talent and passion and skill. Gnome crafters were not wanted. They were too weak, too slow, and whatever they produced was a masterpiece, but it did rarely meet the specifications. But on the turn, he was a gnome, not personified chaos itself. He knew order could be a good thing.
