A bored and sleepy looking guard steps out of the guardhouse near the gate. This is considered the easiest posting at the temple since virtually no one ever stops near the gate, so the werefox is also a bit surprised.

I had heard about those, yes... it's why I asked if you understood the difference between a shadow-vulpan and a true nogitsune. To be fair, their sort of stealth really doesn't suit us, and we are rather less dramatically matriarchal then they are, so much of the complaint is unfounded but I think perhaps a reminder of where we came from that is more than just an old story would help? There are several historical events that would help both in perspective and in training.
