Here's the Pitch:

Nightgaunt scoffs at Redline's objection. "Come on... I'm Fiiiine." He gestures to himself. "lookit me. I wasn't in any real danger."

Nightgaunt's tone sobers. "I agree. It is suspicious. I could be wrong... But I think that's what makes us heroes. Maybe sometimes it's naive. But maybe it's exactly what people need sometimes. A 2nd chance... a helping hand... someone willing to believe they're better than what they are right now?"

Nightgaunt deliberately ignores Zodiac, focusing on Red Line, not entirely sure how to refute Zodiac without undermining his case.

Nightgaunt is telling Red Line to be less suspicious, and to embrace the idealistic nature of being a hero more. He's attempting to shift his Savior up and his Superior down.
