    I'd just like to say that I love the name Maleficant for a villain.

    Names I have used for villains in the past:

    Mordeth
    Tal Malvolen
    Vasishtha
    Mirado
    Mircalla (cudos if you get that reference)

    As regards the OP, I think the witch variant spell list from the DMG works really well to represent Maleficant.
