What the heck happened in Keveak's Plot 3 comic?

Old guy appears, tells them he knows what happens to the murdered heir.
Old guy gets zapped by someone which apparently made him go insane.

I think..

Naw, it doesn't matter, due to the fact that: A) He is supposedly still being beaten by plotgoblins, and had no idea that the key was there and is godmodding, and B) his head is not on his shoulders/neck. It is rolling off his head.

So that comic is non-canon right? Because I can see no good of him having a key..

That and I was sort of hoping that Lying or Lavidor would take it.
