I've also heard it suggested that because of the way heels make a woman's (or a man's, for that matter) calf muscles look different, it suggests 'fleeing beast' to some 'predatory' aspect of the male (or 'attracted to womenfolk' anywho) psyche.

Of course, that could also just be a load of old dingo's kidneys.

Considering that a (mentally stable, at any rate) man won't be thinking of a woman he's attracted to as prey... that doesn't really make sense.
