Yeah, my first reaction, too. But being a miniatures painter, I can't help noticing something else: the paint schemes don't look like final paint schemes at all, they look like undercoats.
Normally, when painting figures, you spray on a basecoat, and then paint solid (and often garish) colors as an undercoat. Then, you add blends, washes, and highlights to create the final look.
I am dubious that those images are actually all that accurate. All they reflect is the very first layer of paint; anything on top of that (like detail) is no longer detectable.
