Opinions on the D20 Pokemaster/Summoner

Recently I cam across this site.

Summoner and Pokemaster are identical except for interchangeable terminology, Pokemon = Monsters, Pokball = Soul Prison etc.

In your opinion:
Is the Class balanced/playable?
Would you allow the summoner class in your campaign?

I really want to try it out but I'm afraid of suggesting it to my DM.

I have similar opinions to you. It looks great but I've never myself played it. There are a lot of player concepts based on this sort of mechanic, without a whole lot of other support for it.

The only problem is not all creatures can be dealt subdual damage, so those monster would be either impossible to capture, be not immune to this subdual damage, or some other work-around.
