Sciano's a cleric. Matt scowls as he pulls out his PDA but continues talking without looking at it. Okay, see, him and my father have bad history I don't even know the half of, right? Well, several months ago my Dad went to the theocratic nation and demanded they hand over the old coot and when they didn't he invaded. Sciano tried to recruit some HALOers into fighting for him without telling them who was knocking down his capital's door. When I tried to intervene, he knocked me full of some brainwashing chemicals, made me attack my pregnant wife. Dad burned the city to the ground, but the Cardinal got away...

And the thing was simple, when it was once explained...


BR's free hand clenches into a fist at hearing Matt's story. I...see. He takes a minute to calm himself, mentally adds one more name to the to-kill list, and then finally looks up. Any idea where I could find this Sciano fellow? I think he and I need to have a little chat...

He's been hiding. See, he's a favorite of his God and all, but there's not much point in hiding in a city with no more walls or army, sacred or not. Matt snickers darkly. Hey, you want to find him and mess him up, go ahead. You really should find a better way of pissing off my Dad though...

BR idly sips his coffee, leaning against the counter.
I'll have to see about tracking him down. And now for something completely different, you said you have a sister, right?

Matt leans back in his chair and takes a drag. Yeah, I do.

Who said I'd kill him? Maybe I'd just bring him back here trussed up like a Thanksgiving turkey for Toby to practice his skills with a carving knife on.

The coffee mug gets refilled.

Well, I think I met her the other day. Presuming the eyes have it. About so high, red hair, fox ears, name of Angela?

Ayup. Matt drops the stub into the ashtray and raises an eyebrow. Any particular reason why you're asking? The... family resemblance wasn't obvious enough?

Mmm. I just wondered. I thought she was rather...intriguing. And before you say anything it's not just because she's lacking a Y chromosome.

Yeah. Thanks to Boudica's complete scorn for time and conventional child-rearing, she's actually a lot older than me. Well, she looks it, right? Trying to pull off a massively unconcerned look, Matt yawns and stretches.

That manages to get a slight chuckle out of BR. Yeah, actually she does. I'm not sure she was all that interested in me, though.

BR gets an eyeroll for his trouble. I don't know how long you two talked or whatever, but it's quite possible she doesn't think you'd be the best person to settle down with. Of course, Angela is the type of person who'd rather... do other things than settle down.

One white eyebrow starts climbing a bit.
Well, I'm not really looking to settle down with anybody, myself...

Matt blinks and then gags. Good, because I'd rather shoot myself than call you brother-in-law.

BR just stares at Matt for a long moment.
Before starting to chuckle.
And then to laugh...

It's good to know you hold me in such lofty regard... he finally manages to sputter out between guffaws.

Matt scowls in return. I could just shoot you myself. Probably spare you the pain of being rejected by Angie.

Eh, I'm a big boy. I can take it. I only get pain if I let myself get emotionally involved. I've leaned a few lessons about that. Mostly the hard way.

That's great. Matt makes another face, clearly disliking the mental image of his sister and BR making like rabbits. I'm sixteen, I'm married, I've got kids. What admittedly fun sex life I once had, back in my other life is over and I don't even care.

Well, it's good to know you don't care, then. Just as long as I won't wake up with my neck slit if anything happens... BR chuckles again. And you shouldn't make faces like that, you might get stuck that way.

Matt bites back what is no doubt a dirty comment about his sister's kinks. Hell, if you really want to piss off Dad go ahead. Of course, he's not going to actually be violently angry you know. Just ticked off that his daughter has such bad tastes. He stands and, with a condescending two fingered salute, walks to his room.

BR shakes his head in amusement.
Well, it's not like I could piss him off any more...

Surrrre...

Washing out his coffee cup, he heads for the Lair, considering what to do on the morrow.

In the morning, Matt sleepily gets out of bed and heads to the kitchen for coffee. To his surprise, there is an older man there already that he doesn't recognize.
Uh, hello... Are you new?
You do not remember me Matthew? I suppose that you never actually met me though.
Right... and you are?
The man continues talking, ignoring the boy. I confess a certain amount of disappointment in my plan... True, it was admittedly sloppy and poorly implemented, but by all accounts the ghost should have at the very least attacked your father.
Fully alert now, Matt steps back and goes for his gun... But a small black-clad figure smashes him over the head with a telescopic baton. The teenager crumples to the ground, unconscious, and is teleported away with the old man. The silent figure makes his way to the security room and doctors the tape, leaving no trace that anyone at all was in the base this morning.

[Siena]

Liana undeadtimes, slicing an apple in the kitchen.

[Falgorn]

Falgorn teleports in, differently. In seems more like a flash, instead of a portal. He appears in the kitchen.

[Siena]

Liana ignores the flash, and waves at him with one hand, popping a small slice of apple in her mouth with the other. Yo. After she swallows, of course.

[Falgorn]

Falgorn ignores the wave, and immediately approaches her. "Liana...I now have the tools to learn which I have always been questioning. I have...power." He says, taking a slice of her apple.

Wonder if any DRDs were witnesses though?



BR, cheerfully oblivious to any and all kidnappings, comes out into the kitchen for his (late) morning coffee.

Hm... The DRDs, as always, know whatever it is each player wants them to know.

Liana's eyebrow raises at Falgorn, and she doesn't seem to mind sharing a slice. Oh yeah? ...wait, what was the question?

[Falgorn]

He finishes her apple. You. You are the question. And, it shall be answered. His voice sounds different. More regal, powerful, and knowing than before.

[Siena]

Umm... riiiight. Liana takes a few steps back, slightly freaked out. Not really because Falgorn has "power", but because he's acting creepy.
