Re: Goblins II
Hence my use of the past tense.
Given how occupied they are with shooting fleeing monsters, why would they wander off to take position elsewhere?
Side A: guards
Side B: monsters*
Middle: the archway
It's pretty straightforward.
* monsters have since left, but their departure didn't cause the guards they killed there to respawn.
Now the ogre came from the other side. So the guards that are shooting at them are already reinforcements that arrived after they left that side and fumbled with the mechanism.Last edited by Gez; 2009-09-04 at 02:27 PM.

Re: Goblins II
I wonder why don't they just stay with the rest of the monsters and simply capture the entire city.
I mean seriously. They already defeated the Goblin Slayer and killed Caine, both who were considerably higher level than anyone else in the entire city. And they also already killed a good portion of the "elite" forces. They could just as well stay and mop up the rest.Last edited by Ravenlord; 2009-09-05 at 12:41 PM.

Re: Goblins II
All other issues - like them being severely beaten up, most of the monsters being dead, there still being the entire regular city guard who suffered no losses at all, etc. - aside, what would they do that for?

Re: Goblins II
As for the reasons: well, being beaten up in your city beats being beaten up and wandering in the wilderness.
And I don't see why being in the less favourable position is a problem. It's not like pulling impossible stunts one another and winning all without a hitch was a problem for the heroes of Goblins before...
Re: regular guard: I'd eat my non-existing hat if Brassmoon had a lot larger regular guard besides all the elites we already saw. Just what kind of city is that to not have even pawed roads (I only recall seeing dirt roads) but field a complete army?
Yeah, I guess I'm still bitter about recent and not so recent developments in the storyline. There is no such thing as "innocence", only degrees of guilt.

Re: Goblins II
It appears as though there are some official guards based on GS wanting to take charge of the cities guards, and the mayor's soldiers were mentioned before Fumble's execution got underway.

Re: Goblins II
But... what would they do with the city? After all the evil guards are taken out, all that's left are innocent civilians that are just trying to live peaceful lives.
A point could be made for eliminating their military so they couldn't build up a force to threaten the goblin (and ogre, and bugbear, and kobold...) race again. But capturing the city seems rather needless. My PMV's! Youtube Channel

Re: Goblins II
Perhaps it would have made more sense if Chief had said "two really fast oxen" since "ox" is simply a gender independent term for adult cattle, though these days generally used only for draft cattle, with which the GAP are likely more familiar then dairy cattle. Not as funny though.

Re: Goblins II
Works for horses too. Horse milk is pretty expensive but it is consumed by humans as sort of a delicacy and Mongols (mostly lactose intolerant) ferment it to produce a mildly alcoholic beverage. Donkey milk was considered as a medicine long ago in the countryside around where I live.
Milking a horse is a much more dangerous task than milking a cow so these guys might regret it if they try it.Last edited by teratorn; 2009-09-06 at 09:56 AM.

Re: Goblins II
Thaco's making good use of his missile deflection feat there.
Also, is it just me or has Thunt gotten better at drawing bodies? I mean, Thaco kinda looks like his neck should have snapped, sure, but there was a time when bodies in general tended to look a bit, well, flat in scenes like the one we just saw.Last edited by Johnny Blade; 2009-09-09 at 07:05 PM.

That is my new favorite line. For the next five minutes or so. You know how it is.
Also... we haven't seen the back of that black female orc before, have we?
