We need a new banner, avatarists, please help us get a new one! We really need a new one. Since the old one died...

Last time on HALO:

BR doesn't seem to notice Ari at all, instead rushing to Marle's side and reaching for her hand, his own face pale and his hands shaking.
What happened? How did she...

Marle seems to shrink away from the sound of BR's voice, her hands trembling. The heart monitor beeps louder and faster as her heartrate increases. Her breathing grows ragged, as if she's sobbing, and tears pour out from under her closed lids.

Ari leaves the infirmary and heads to Matt's room to get her clothes.
That's when she finds the note and reads it...

BR yanks over a chair and drops into it, reaching to take Marle's hand in his.
It's me, love. It's OK. I...I forgive you.
His own voice shakes, tears running down his cheeks.


Patty, meanwhile, wakes up in Ari's glade.

Cierra sits nearby in a chair, observing.

It's not that easy. Marle can't forgive herself, can't excuse all the hurt she caused so many people.

It might help if eventually someone lets her know that it wasn't ALL her fault...

Ari runs back to the infirmary and hands BR the note:

Marle, you do know the punch was spiked right?

Angie closes her eyes and just stands there soaking in the emotions in the infirmary.

BR reads the note, and nods, giving Ari a grateful smile. Then looks at Marle. It was. I still love you, I still want you, I still need you...

Of course, he doesn't know about the previous, non-spiked, time, but it wouldn't change how he feels.

[Dirk Kris]

Marle just trembles, silent tears pouring. Angie can feel her doubt, that they're just trying to be nice. It's mixed in with the sadness and fear and resignation...and a touch of anger at still being alive, at having to deal with this at all.

[McBish]

Angie frowns and tries to pull out BR's feelings and project them to Marle, so she can feel how he is actually feeling right now.

[The Bushranger]

BR's feelings with regards to Marle are worry, grief, love - and a feeling that if she had managed to kill herself, he would have probably done the same...

Unable to say anything, he squeezes her hand, then leans forwards to put a soft, gentle kiss against her lips.

[Dirk Kris]

Marle doesn't kiss back, though her lips part slightly and a sigh escapes her. Her hand twitches in BR's, and one fingertip weakly tries to move across his palm...maybe a throwback to an old game they played...?

The smallest of smiles crossing his lips for an instant, BR returns the gesture, his fingertips tracing over Marle's hand. I don't want to lose you. Ever. I love you and I need you...

[Dirk Kris]

...you...left...me...sorry... It takes an agonizingly long time for the words to be formed, what with the trembling and all.

[McBish]

Angie keeps pumping BR's emotion into Marle.

That'll be a wave of shame right now...

I didn't mean to, love. I needed to clear my head so I didn't say something to make it worse, I didn't mean to make it worse... BR looks down, still holding Marle's hand. I should have stayed anyway. Forgive me, love, please...

Matt wakes up in Ari's glade.


Angela is reading the same line in a certain book, over and over again. Finally she shuts it, and walks to the infirmary.

Cierra watches the scene in the infirmary quietly. When Angela walks in, Cierra focuses her attention on her.

Matt might notice that Ari's not there.

Ari slips out of the infirmary and heads towards Matt's room to get her clothes.

Angie stops sending the emotions as she turns to leave the infirmary. Her legs shake a little bit as she walks down the hallway, finding a quiet corner she sits down and closes her eyes.

Marle's hand trembles. not...you...my...fault...hurt

No. Angela keeps her voice firm, and fairly devoid of emotions. She walks over to Marle and looks down at her. Not your fault. Mine. The sex I mean. I did it. I twisted both your minds and emotions to make it happen.

Cierra sits back and watches Angela interact with this drama.

BR is about to say something more, then looks up in startlement at Angela when she speaks.

Marle's trembling increases. Matt...hurt? Ari...said...suicide... Could it be true? Could there be a way out of this for everyone?

She said tried for your information.
But yeah.
The gun's probably still outside his room.
Ari picks it up and hides it behind her dresser.

He couldn't stand hurting people, so he tried to put a gun to his head. Ari stopped him of course, and he's now working on earning their trust back. I'll go tell them I'm responsible later. So, to recap: For reasons known only to myself I manipulated your mind and emotions until you had sex with Matt, both times in case you were wondering. In reality you only see Matt as a good friend and would have never even though about sleeping with him if I wasn't a cruel b****. Unnable to meet BR's or even Marle's, eyes, Angela just stares at the wall. So there's no need for you two to have problems with each other.


Hey! Matt needs that gun for self-defence!

BR squeezes Marle's hands gently, looking up at Angela and trying to meet her eyes, or at least know she can see him.

And he mouths three words. 'I forgive you.'

Before looking back down at Marle. It's alright.
