What would you do with 20,000 followers?

My experimenting with epic rules has led me to the Leadership, Epic Leadership, and Legendary Commander feats... and my kobold character with a Leadership score of 49, and x10 the listed numbers of followers.

This leads to a Cohort of level 29, plus: 19,000 x 1st level; 1,900 x 2nd level; 950 x 3rd level; 475 x 4th level; 238 x 5th level; 119 x 6th level; 60 x 7th level; 30 x 8th level; 15 x 9th level; 8 x 10th level; 4 x 11th level; 2 x 12th level; and 1 x 13th level Followers.

So... what in the world is there to /do/ with this many levelled followers, outside of sheer mass combat and colonization-by-force?

My Roomie is all throwing stuff at me:

XP-farm: Gladiatoral Combat until one or two of them has leveled up until they can give you XP.

Have them all learn healing spells and fit 'em all in a pocket dimension connected via a ring-gate so they can heal you 24/7

Create a new deity.

Make yourself a new deity.

Hold them in reserve for trap checking.

A Renewable variant of the XP farm from Breeding the adults and having the offspring engage in gladiatoral games against one another to level them up.

Dismiss them all, get followers who can cast 1st level spells at least and use them as mitigation for epic spells.

Cast an ABSURDLY epic spell.

You have 20000 people following you. Do you know what you could do with a 20000 person group? You could cast a fireball that would engulf the entire world with a few hundred D20 damage after dispelling everybody on the planet with a +a huge number on the dispelling check and then raise them all from the dead.

You could even make it require a fortitude save so those pesky evasioners don't escape your nuke.

Tell them all that your deity came to you in a vision and said you'll die if you don't raise a million gold pieces by the end of the year. Then tell them to "give and give and give until it hurts!" You should net at least enough for a new major magic item out of that.

Actually, by mere number of worshipers you already have the equivalent of what a lesser deity (Divine Rank 6-10) typically has. Take a look at Deities & Demigods p.25. You already have more than Quasi-deities and demigods.

That's what Undead Leadership is for.

Well, that assumes that number of worshippers is what leads to increase in divine rank, and that depends on the campaign-universe. It's not a bad assumption, but it's entirely possible that worshippers are necessary, but not sufficient, and the would-be deity also has to seize control of a godly realm and performs some mysterious act that links him to a portfolio. At that level of things, it might be worth using the rules from a rather old WotC line: "Primal Order". :)

Not quite; Dragon Ascendant is a prestige class from Draconomicon, page 90. Two of the prerequisites are Base Attack Bonus +30, and being a true dragon, which makes it rather tricky to get onto in the first place, but not impossible...

It is on p.131, but it only gives you a +2 bonus to your leadership score.

Oh, and along with the rod (sorry, not a staff) be sure to put some gold into a fortress/castle to increase your leadership score even more.

Supply them with Good quality meals, quality clothes, etc, etc and with proper roleplaying you might get the bonus for treating them well.

Get them all to take the Swarm Fighting feat. Get them all to stand in a single 5' square.
Not sure what that'd do for you, but it'd be cool to see.

Oh, and if you want to be REAL dirty, and you can get your DM to allow it (is he even allowing this?), have your cohort take the leadership feat, and make it something with a HUGE Cha (say a Succubus? She'd have other uses to boot...).

Right now, we're at the stage of poking at the various epic rules with a stick, to decide whether or not we want to use any of them at all; my fiddling with the Leadership numbers is one part of that poking.
