Roxy is a bard who has Disguise Self and Perform in her skill sets, and happens to be of a similar height and build to the Princess. She's a half-elf and I don't know that she could double for anyone else.

Tartania has Shapeshift, but she's most definitely not on the side of the protagonists...

I assume so. It would make sense, as the last three chapters (Hotel, Genre Battle, Castle) were supposed to be taking place in parallel.

And/or retroactive. Now that the genre is high fantasy, it has ALWAYS been high fantasy, as clearly evidenced by those parallel Hotel and Castle chapters. Anyone who still remembers Rusty and Co as a dystopian-alternate-silver-age superhero serial is clearly deluded, and should report to the nearest Adjustment Registry for recalibration.

Using THE (beads of) FORCE

Basically, more of what already happened. It's kind of a magic grenade that deals unavoidable damage. (There's nothing in D&D AFAIK that has resistance or immunity to force damage.)

Also it continues the theme of Madeline turning random things into powerful magic items just by the sheer force of her conviction. Like with her hoe-ly avenger.

By the by, it was heartbreaking how Maddie didn't get why the specters wouldn't let her save them. She already did save them. She gave them a chance for something better, and they wanted her to have one as well.
