Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
No, that seems valid to me as well. An interesting catch, one I'd never stopped to consider with Shadowcasting.
Though... it could be argued you only get feats of you complete the Path on a Shadowcaster level, due to the wording and it being a Shadowcaster specific ability and all. That... could be a clever way to score a bonus feat or two (inter-mix Shadowcaster levels into builds to nick those bonus feats when you complete paths).
All that I say applies only to myself. You author your own actions and choices. I cannot and will not be responsible for you, nor are you for me, regardless of situation or circumstance.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Does the ban on buying items at a reduced price also apply to organization membership benefits?

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
So, Jake. Are Black Wizards of High Sorcery banned? Because I do not see them listed in the prestige class section.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
I've got an ogre character (Bob, he's not on the sheet yet) who got approved; anyone want to try to take him on? I'm willing to go qualifiers with tiers 3-5 and exhibitions with tiers 2 or 3. I'd estimate him at tier 3, but he may be 4, so I'm especially interested in a tier 3 exhibition so I can get a better idea of how he performs. 1 on 1 only. Anyone interested?

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
I'd exhibition with him...just keep in mind that you're likely to lose rather quickly. Still interested in a match with a Tier 2?

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Why not? You want to make the thread, or should I? And what's the character's name? And who'll be DMing?

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Here is the thread.
My character's name is Nevara.
We don't really need a DM, we can just go by the honor system. A DM is only really necessary if both characters are trying to hide from the other. Just make all rolls in the open; it works well enough for most fights.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
I can think of at least four builds off the top of my head who would shrug that off...
however, it is a rather impressive amount of damage...Last edited by ShneekeyTheLost; 2010-05-23 at 11:21 PM.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Kill Confirmed!
Congratulations, you are the winner of the Cthulhu Challenge!
I was pretty sure people were going to bring summoner builds, but I guess there's no good way left to get at the K-series entities without planar binding. Contact me via IM or e-mail and we'll negotiate prize delivery.
We are now taking new challenge options!
I suggest something clever in honor of the Legend alpha, but I am after all, biased.Last edited by Doc Roc; 2010-05-24 at 01:34 AM.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Ok, Bob lost his exhibition against Nevara quite spectacularly...there is something to be said for spending the majority of your WBL on bought creatures. So he's up for another exhibition vs. tier 2 or 3 or qualifier vs. tiers 3-5, with the caveat of no minionmancers of tier 3 or above, as they're his weakness.
On another note, is the antimatter fighters challenge still open? And does it have to be a wizard, or can I pick my own core build to try to take out a team of 4 core antimatter-using fighters? Also, if it is open, I take it core means just DMG+PHB+MM, not also other SRD stuff? And would deflect arrows work on the futuristic weapons?Last edited by Yitzi; 2010-05-24 at 08:32 PM.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
@Doc Roc
You said you would start checking soon... I wouldn't mind if you took a look at my Truenamer. It doesn't need rush approval for a challenge, but I'm quite keen on continuing the exhibition with Olo he's currently performing in.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Hey all! So, I'm working on a Sage build right now from Legend Alpha for entry. Currently it's a bit feat heavy near the end since I've spent my level 6,9, and 12 feats on Max, Empower, and Quicken SLA for Black Tiding damage boosting. I'm delving through my books looking for good item replacements tothe feats but figured I would ask if any of you knew of any magic items that might do similar? Something along the lines of an SLA version of the metamagic rods perhaps? Or other damage modifiers that would make the feats irrelavent to take.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Looks like I'm going to have to update my Paladin into Alpha for a Legend showdown.
Quick tip. Don't let me land a hit ;)

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
Please do note that we're mostly just throwing fun toys into the mix - Legend is going to have its own set of OGL-compliant feats, and a *lot* of 3.5 stuff won't make it at all. So when the paladin does approximately a million damage in a round, don't blame us.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
I think WotC wanted meaning A.
Main Entry: cu·mu·la·tive
Pronunciation: \ˈkyü-myə-lə-tiv, -ˌlā-\
Function: adjective
Date: 1605
1 a : made up of accumulated parts b : increasing by successive additions
Oh, nowhere close to THAT. Remember, I am a lazy optimizer.Last edited by sofawall; 2010-05-27 at 07:18 PM.

Re: Test of Spite [3.5]
By the table, if you take that meaning, they get the bonus every level, since the leftmost column is 1-2, 3-4, etc.
The 'improvement to existing' is for those who have NA before they became a familiar.
