They tend to be way overly minted. And rum is not tasty.

If you want a mint drink you're supposed to have mint juleps. About the only drink where sugar is an ingredient rather than an ingredient of an ingredient but that's counterbalanced by the bit where it requires bourbon.

See, this is where it gets awkward. I either deny it, thus leading into a long road of argument and denial, where you either end up agreeing with me, calling me ugly, or you just stop talking to me, leaving both of us in a sour mood. If I agree with you, on the other hand, I seem like a jerk. Since I honestly believe that I am not that attractive, I am not going to agree with you. So, this will be either a long argument, or a very awkward one. This is the awkwardly, awkward road of people claiming to be ugly. You either walk into the terrible trap of the conversation, or you ignore it completely. :C

Even if you don't agree with them you can at least try to take compliments at face value. They're often intended to be something that would raise your mood or express a person's interest in you.

While you yourself may not agree with their assessment, denying their goodwill by disagreeing with them can end up sending somewhat rude signals to the other person, unfortunately. If you're aware of this and this is your intent then fine.

But if it is not I'd go with a polite "thank you" and mentally store it in the section of your brain dedicated to contrary information. Just because you believe you are not attractive doesn't mean you are right. Yours is merely the most repeated opinion, not the most correct. [/advice for stuff I still wrestle with myself most days =/ ]

Being sleek helps, I imagine. Anything that emphasizes verticality will also have a slimming effect.
