I believe he wanted to make Thog mad so he'd hit harder and do more damage to the columns, which he needed to drop the ceiling on him.

    Brilliant!

So Elan's dad has now gotten Roy to defeat Thog for him so his popularity will drop and he can be executed.

He got V to weaken Z enough that he can be carted off in chains.

And he's gotten Nale and Sabine about to engage with Durkon, Elan and Haley so Malack can step in and get his revenge once they're weakened.

Oh, and Roy was pretty smart too.

Wonderful comic - Roy notches another Crowning Moment of Awesome.

I don't know if Thog is dead. He may indeed be finished, but his "death" reminds me of advice given in the Dragonlance modules from Pen and Paper D&D - something to the effect of "Some characters have a special role to play at some point in the adventure. If you can not avoid them being killed, be sure that they die in such a way that their body is lost, or never found/seen for sure by the party".

Of course, in a world with Raise Dead, this could make for a pretty temporary absence from life anyway, just ask Roy.
I gave up fighting, and stabbing and bludgeoning and stealing and bar-brawls and wenches . . . and it was the worst 10 rounds of my life - Jerry the Country & Western Bard.

Excellent. I don't think I've enjoyed an unorthodox method of defeating an enemy this much since Durkon used Control Weather to smite some trees with thunder. Well done!

    That ... was FANTASTIC!!

In addition, having just played 'Knights of the Old Republic', I now have a better feel for what 'class' and 'cross-class' mean in terms of building (for the non-player: Every level-up a player gets X skill points to spend on different abilities. It takes 1 point to raise a 'class' skill and 2 points to raise a cross-class skill. INT directly bears on how many skill points a player gets, with a minimum of 1 and a max of about .. 4 ? At INT level 18).

At any rate that's a tremendous lot of skill points spent on a fluff skill rather than core warrior specialty. But I guess that's because he's supposed to be a 'real person' rather than an ultra-optimized combat guy.

Why would Roy do that? Does he plan to become a civil engineer when he retires from adventuring?

Roy's plot armor shines through yet again, sooooo awesome
That's not fair. He's already been killed once and spent the entire last book DEAD. I'm willing to believe both he and Thog have hit points out the wazoo and , anyway, I'm in no mood for ANOTHER humongous detour to get him raised again.

Sorry for the extra long delay on this one, the extra pages took a long time.
Thank you. I accept your apology.

    Respectfully,

    Brian P.
