My computer defaults to Calibri or Cambria, depending on if the bit of text is marked as a heading or body. This is good because Cambria is slightly larger than Times New Roman, which as far as I can tell would otherwise be the default serif font. Thus, a two-page paper it's shorter. Teacher never thought of mandating a particular font, just a size.

Odd, my teachers always specified TNR for page-length papers.

It seems the font was to provide users a way to place common symbols into a document easily without importing an image. Makes sense! Never thought about it that way before.

Sadly, I wasn't looking forward to it as much as I would, because I'm about to deal with a very stressful afternoon as my parents dash around trying to prepare for leaving tomorrow. Which, for the record, I didn't know was the first day of vacation. I thought I'd have a few days to pack that weren't school days.

Also, tomorrow, I'm gonna be in Amsterdam! I think in three days, I'm gonna be in Prague. Hellz yes. The stress is totally worth it. I'm so giddy right now!

ION: Mother was having a discussion with the girlfriend of the family friend we're seeing in Prague. We'll all be meeting her for the first time too, and this is the conversation they had.

Prague is the best. I cannot emphasize that enough. Have the beer. Have a bit more, it's incredibly cheap. Then go enjoy the gorgeous architecture. Also, check out the weird statue of Kafka. You'll know it when you see it. Prague is the best.

I support this position. It's the way of the programmer.

I actually became quite displeased when I realised that Eclipse didn't default to a monospace font. It was the first options change I made, followed by giving bracket match highlights a more visibile and visually pleasing colour.

I have no preference for font, honestly. If I was doing something that required font having, I'd entrust someone else to pick a good font. As long as it's clear and readable, it's good.

Yeah... turns out, they're totally not okay with me wearing Convers in the snow in Prague, so right after that post, we had a fight because they never told me and I don't own any other shoes. I now have new shoes. I am not pleased about this, but it's better than nothing. Also, now both the parentals are pissed at me, which is just lovely.

Well, I did react pretty badly. Basically, I had a great day in school, walk in jyously, and I get an incredibly hostile feeling from both parents. Later, when I've hidden in my room for an hour and steamed in the unpleasant feeling throughout the household, they get pretty annoyed about the shoe thing, and I responded in kind.

With half melted ice resting on my toes for most of the time spent outside? It just never bugged me, so I kept it up throughout the year.

It's probably about normal for a family where everyone has mental issues, Anyway, they're pissed at me because of my reaction, and I still can't shake this lingering feeling that my dad really just wishes he had spawned a relatively normal daughter instead of me.

There's nothing wrong with Times New Roman. It is a more than acceptable font suitable for numerous uses.
