The skunkfolk have arrived... lock-up your dogs and your daughters... well... not so much your daughters... skunkfolk are usually perfect gentlemen, even if they are consummate charmers (No, I am not talking about their sorcerers you doof!).

P.S. Still missing a lot of the history and other fluff (and a link to an example character or three).

Already did... noted the source you interpreted them from (Final Fantasy IX), and I highly approve of that as a source.

Edit: They look like they might be LA +1 rather than LA +2...

Edit^2: The skunkfolk weren't inspired by Pepe La Pew really, and they CERTAINLY are anywhere NEAR that pushy, even after correcting for the curse. They would really have more in common with Chanel Fluffle from Oren Otter's comic, "The Fluffles"... and even that is only a tenuous connection...

I tried to make them more, unique... and creepier.

I hope the Qus didn't leak out to much on it, I want to stay original.

Edit: They look like they might be LA +1 rather than LA +2...
They have a lot of ability, I wanted to be sure. If I get more feedback around this, they might change, though.

Yeah... I mean they DO make a nasty grappler build... I could see it either way...

Speaking of LA's... let me say that the design of the skunkfolk is based on having played and GMed wereskunks. Wereskunks seem balanced with the perminant racial HD (rather than the +1 LA we started them out with)... the difference between the two is in the lack of shape-shifting, the +2 to CHA, and the +2 to balance, basically. Wereskunks do not have DR or skunk empathy, and can only "infect" their chosen spouse.

Welp, this is my first shot at a famous Vorpal Tribble Monster Competition. The soulstitched seemed to be a hit at my gaming table, so I thought, "Hey, I'll give it a go."

EDIT: Oh yeah, I know the entry is rather long, but the Living Construct Subtype along with the traits of a soulstitched's detatched limb seemed necessary.

I had a conversation with MostlyHarmless of the "Tears of Blood" project. It was interesting to see how we thought of a similar idea (i.e. sentient flesh golems) and went completely different ways with it (his race being the fleshwrought).

BTW, best of luck to DracoDei, 'specially since he helped me make the soulstitched in the first place.

Breaks my heart to have to tell you this, but better now while you still have time to find another entry... Entries can not have been posted before... double check the contest rules... it is in there... actually makes sense since these contests are to inspire people to KEEP thinking of NEW stuff, and re-posts don't do that. Rule 6, second sentence.

Edit^2: DON'T delete your entry if you have made any improvements in the reposting of it. And you have... the picture, at the very least is new... edit the changes into the original at the VERY least. Vorpal Tribble will omit your entry from the list of possible ones to vote for, and people will still be able to see it in both locations for as long as the archives last (nothing is FOREVER, especially on the 'net).

Edit: Having said that... I could use a race of constrictor snake like people for a campaign idea I have (would actually be using them to base the hybrid form of a wereconstrictor on). Not actually a campaign I intend to ever run... but once I write it up, someone might end up using it...
    NO POISON
2 arms, no legs (or MAYBE 2 arms, 2 legs and a tail)
    Probably medium size...
Come up with a simple system for making them cold-blooded, and the torpor associated with being at a lower temperature.

... on second thought that is probably too simplistic by itself...

I WAS going to go there with my entry... and now I have... in SPADES (or at least... what is one step lower than Spades? Hearts?)... anyway... 6 feats, including 2 Epic ones...
Edit:considering adding one that will let them use a shield on their tail (Requirements: BAB +6?, and of course proficient with shields), thus letting them get both a shield and a 2-hander if they take it... equivalent to spending a feat to get an animated shield... what do people think?

BTW: If I want to make up a domain or two for the goddess of the skunkfolk, but they aren't supposed to be the sort of things that any adventurer in his right mind would care about then do I HAVE to come up with the specific spells and/or granted powers? Also I could use a suggestion for a name for that goddess. She won their devotion after she cursed them because they were using sex to tempt others to evil (imagine the mortal, non-magical counterparts to succubi... yeah...). Basically, they committed crimes against her portfolio, she punished them, they learned their lesson and went straight. In my own games I call her Athena... but that would cause conflicts and loss of suspension of disbelief in other people's campaigns.

I won't go through the "I can pee more often than you" feats, but rather the others.

    Holy Spray [Skunkfolk]
At first I was intrigued. 2d4? Per level? Ouch! But now I know better.

    Acid Spray [Skunkfolk, Reserve]
This one inspires me less dread. Unless the player goes epic, he won't blow up the planet with it.

Edit:considering adding one that will let them use a shield on their tail (Requirements: BAB +6?, and of course proficient with shields), thus letting them get both a shield and a 2-hander if they take it... equivalent to spending a feat to get an animated shield... what do people think?
Improved Buckler Defense let you wield a buckler and weapon in the same hand while keeping its AC bonus. Prehensile Tail (Savage Species) let you use your tail as a third hand.

If nobody would take that domain, forget about it.

I had assumed that rule referred to things previously posted by other people. Especially since the race is so much more balanced now.

    Oh well.

Hey, we spur eachother on to better and better creations... that is half the point of making it a competition... so people will become better by trying to outdo eachother... someone adds a picture, and suddenly everyone feels like they need one... you do racial feats, and I get off my duff and add the ones I was thinking of.

At first I was intrigued. 2d4? Per level? Ouch! But now I know better.
Are you saying to dial it back to say... 1d4 (1d6?) per turning level? Your next comment seems to imply so, but I thought I would double-check...

This one inspires me less dread. Unless the player goes epic, he won't blow up the planet with it.
Well... not in one shot... but "Holy Spray" is capped by the number of times you can turn undead in a day, whereas "Acid Spray" can be used once every 20 minutes (since it requires musk) all day long if you keep an Energy Substituted Delayed Blast Fireball prepared. However it DOES do ~1/4 the damage per shot of the other feat (half the dice per increment, and max spell level ~= half character level).

Sounds like it should be a "Go" then. How tough are the prerequisites for those feats? For one thing I PROBABLY need to make "Tail Shield Use" easier to get than "Prehensile Tail" since I ASSUME that the latter at least gives a bonus to climbing trees, and probably allows you to wield 3 hands worth of weapons.

Ok. Of course VT's word is going to be important on this, since it is one of the contest rules, but there WAS a reason I was asking publicly since it is ALSO important that if he says it is "legal" that I know it also won't be seen as a negative point for my races details.
