Fendran stands and stretches, then opens a gateway to the ruins and walks through.

mExy smiles and follows.

An interplanar gate opens up, and Fendran and mKrystal come through. Fendran drinks another healing potion and flops in a chair with a disgusted expression.

That was at least twice as much effort as it should have been!

mKrystal arches an eyebrow at him

It's not my fault you failed to plan for the appearance of your counterpart from our world.

mExy comes through the gate before it closes.

"Someone's got some problems."

He sits down in a chair.

[Fenric]

Fendran snarls softly. mKrystal laughs at him, then looks at mExachix

So... we're going to impersonate the happy couple and frame them for murder as step one, is it? I want to see the maps of the place myself.

[Exachix]

mExy smiles, and stands, before walking over to the table which he spread all the maps and other data over.

"That's the plan, and here it is. I think Fendran was scrying on them before..." He smiles at Fendran. "And what did he do? Rather than watching the door to their room to see if they come out, he watches them in bed."

[Fenric]

mKrystal rolls her eyes

So not only is he fat, he is a voyeur? Lovely. I'll have to remember to put up anti-scrying spells whenever I take a bath from now on.

mExy hears in his mind

How long before we kill this bozo?

mExy blinks.

Woa! *shuffling of papers in mind.* Well... I don't know. He may still prove useful. Why do you ask? Want to kill him and strike off on our own?

mKrystal looks at the maps

While this time around it's useful for "us", this thing of his with Fenric is personal. I do not want to get dragged into Ravenloft politics.

I don't think his scheme will work as well as he thinks thinks it will. After we kill the father, we need to make Exachix, Krystal, and Fendran the next targets and then get out of here! Let the corpse of Fendran take the blame.

mExy looks over to map with mKrystal.

No... That seems like a good idea... dump the fat fool somewhere, like, Exachix's room, and dart off somewhere. That would be fun. So, why are you now helping me, why didn't you go and do this yourself and get me in trouble with him and the rest of them?

[Fenric]

mKrystal's grip on the map tightens

As much as it pains me to admit, I do not believe I could kill him on my own... And besides: you have the dagger.

mExy looks as Krystal's grip tightens.

Fair Enough. Okay then. I'll side with Fendran, until we decide to break off, then I'll be with you. He looks over at the far side of the map. But How can i be sure you won't turn back on me?

mKrystal grins

You can't. Anymore than I can trust you. But from what I saw in the fight at Inari's, we're closely enough matched that if we fight, chances are good neither of us walks away.

My agreement is merely to get our revenge and get out of town: We split Fendran's little treasury here, and then we're done; no fancy agreements, no long term commitment, just a one-job stand.

Our risk is low if we stay realistic with our goals. Fendran's goals are not realistic and if either of us side with him, all three of us will die.

[Exachix]

mExy hmms. He's been thinking for a very long time.

Very Well then. But just for this one job. I kill Exachix, You kill Krystal, we both hit Fendran, and then jump outta here. Or do we do Fendran, then Exy and Krystal?

mKrystal scowls in thought at the maps

Your first way was best: Get the do-gooders out of the way first, so that if things go south at that stage, Fendran is still around to take the heat.

mExy smiles slightly.

Yes... ok, still go with Fendran's plan to begin with though? Kill the silly grandfather first?

mKrystal nods

We need to keep his trust or our plan will fall apart. It shouldn't be a big deal, and it will get our primary targets isolated and easier to hit.

[Exachix]

mExy takes a deep breath.

Ok. So do you think our new plan will work? Or is it still doomed?

mKrystal nods

The plan will create the necessary confusion to afford us our opportunity, yes. Otherwise, I'd never have come here

(( Of course: had she stayed, she would now be enslaved by the godruped, but she has no way of knowing that... ))

And then we go, using the contingencies that Fendran himself made... Ok. So, now we need when we will be jumping in there for the kill.

Fendran jumps up with a shout of triumph

At last! Krystal and Exachix have gone out for a picnic! The time to strike is at hand!

Exachix spins round to look at Fendran.

"Right!"

mKrystal grins wickedly

It's about time... let's get this started

She glances at mExachix

And if we can catch those two outside, perhaps it will be quicker than I had hoped...

Fendran promptly casts a spell to allow the group to travel along the Ethereal borders, opening a small grey portal.

mExy takes a deep breath.

Right. And then the sooner we can get outta this hell-hole.

Fendran and Krystal enter the portal

The scortched and severely dehydrated mKrystal appears in the main chamber of Fendran's tower. She greedily gulps down several healing potions, then laughs wickedly.

It worked! It worked! Now for the looting!

Sipping frequently from a glass of cool water, she rapidly gathers up the treasures she had set her eyes on during the past week of staying in the tower.

[Exachix]

mExy appears soon later. Scorched, beaten, and exhausted, he slumps into a chair and puts both hands to his face.

mKrystal chuckles and hands him a potion

We did it! The fools have died at last!

She makes a grand gesture around the tower

He's stockpiled a lot of goodies here, better grab your share before those foxes catch up with you.

mKrystal resumes her dilligent stuffing of a bag of holding.
