Default PC races based on genies/djinn?

As research for a playable race I want to develop for RQ6, I'm looking for any examples of PC races based on genies, djinn, or similar mythological creatures. This can be from D&D or any other RPG you happen to know of. Please tell me what the race was called, what system and setting it was designed for, and any opinion you have on what makes it a good or bad race either mechanically or flavor-wise.

    Thanks!

and when I woke I never knew
to which side I had fallen

The Gensai races in the FR setting are all descended from Genies.

With the proviso that some might be descended from other creatures of the appropriate element.

The Suli from Pathfinder are descended from Djinn. With the whole elemental attack schtick as well.

In Pathfinder, the Ifrits, Oreads, Sylphs and Undines can also be descendants of genies. They are basically genasi.
