Monsters in the Plaground?
So, where'd it all go? I haven't heard mention of it, or seen the thread on the first page in I don't know how long. That's pretty much it, just looking to see if anyone can tell me what's going on, that project had homebrewed monsters flying all over the place, kept me quite entertained.....
(I put this here cause it's a question, even though the thread in question was in homebrew.)Fizban's Tweaks and Brew: Google Drive (PDF), Thread
A collection of over 200 pages of individually small bans, tweaks, brews, and rule changes, usable piecemeal or nearly altogether, and even some convenient lists. Everything I've done that I'd call done enough to use in one place (plus a number of things I'm working on that aren't quite done, of course).

Re: Monsters in the Plaground?
Thank you for asking! I've been wondering this too -- I had told Fax Celestis I would try to do some art for MitP, and when I got home from break -- it was gone! I can't figure out what happened...

Re: Monsters in the Plaground?
The board move ate many of the monsters, and nobody is yet brave enough to edit the index. Fax is busy being a newlywed (and playing FFXII).
Anyone else (read: not me, for I am lazy and possibly unfocused) want to step up to organize it until he comes back?Mandible Bones, the Worst Pirate Ever.

Re: Monsters in the Plaground?
Haha, I don't even get that quote, I've only read the chronicles and legends.
So Fax is busy, and I hadn't thought about the board switch. Someone really should take it up. The new board search engine works very well so it wouldn't be to hard to fix the links, but I have a feeling most of the monster makers wandered of....Fizban's Tweaks and Brew: Google Drive (PDF), Thread

Heh, back in middle school one of my friends suggested I become a white rapper and call myself skittles, since I talk really fast. It was funny the first 2 times, not so much after.....

Re: Monsters in the Plaground?
Wow. Back on topic.
So it appears Fizban's right: the search function lets us find most of the monsters (mine is hiding there as well). I suggest that we wait until the end of each month, cataloging all the MitP monsters suggested that month, and do a poll - 7 votes for inclusion? I mean, we could do real voting, but nobody seems to want to do that.Mandible Bones, the Worst Pirate Ever.

Re: Monsters in the Plaground?
Monsters in the Playground, a project started in the Homebrew Design section to publish a collection of (volunarily submitted) homebrew monsters, voted on by the other submittors.
Since the driving force behind it, one Fax Celestis, is currently busy leveling his FFVII party and learning about being married, it's fallen into a sort of slack zone.Mandible Bones, the Worst Pirate Ever.

Re: Monsters in the Plaground?
In case anyone wants to hear it, I've found that it's much easier to search for a list of threads started by someone and just scan down it for the one I want. Of course, the with the serious homebrewers you'll have to narrow down the search some more (I spent nearly an hour looking over a list of Fax's threads for one template), but it works for most of them.

It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.

Re: Monsters in the Plaground?
I'd suggest that those of us who had submissions for the MitP project (incidentally, doing a search for Threads Started By and putting MitP into the search works wonderfully) should probably update those links and given that Fax seems to be slacking it might be an idea to maintain it in a different thread somewhere. That said, I'm unlikely to be the person to do it. ;)
However, I'm perfectly willing to supply links to my own creations... although I'm going to have to edit all of them (which I hope I can) to point at both the original MitP thread and at whatever other thread temporarily holds all that stuff. Unless it turns out to be the last page of the original thread. I'm OK with that too.
Original master thread
My designs:
Pyreling
Worms
Adapter (officially voted in)
Inveigler (officially voted in)
Grraaacht
I suppose the good news, for me, is that I only had the 5 in the official thread anyhow... If I get really rambunctious, which I doubt, I might look for other people's stuff too. Don't bet on it ;) Perhaps we can sweet-talk D1 into pulling the stuff together in Fax' absence... :)
I'll tell you though, I was very perturbed when my first search for all MITP submissions said "showing 10 of 10 threads" - then I realised I was limited to the past month by default. Whew. ;)Last edited by fangthane; 2006-12-27 at 05:43 PM. Reason: inadvertently fingered Tribble as the other editor, and was wrong.

Re: Monsters in the Plaground?
Well, it's probably less than perfect in terms of format and execution and I only made it about halfway at the moment, but here're the links - other than mine and D1 - up to about the midway point. Mine are in the last post and I'm damned if I'm going through everything D1's posted to see whether it was a MitP submission.
Anyhow, here's everything I could find on the forums... It looks like a few IDs got eaten and I can't find their submissions (hajih etc) but for the most part, this is everything except D1 (and Fax, oops) and my links, up to LoopyZebra.

Re: Monsters in the Plaground?
The key reason you can't locate 'Hajih' is because that was my old username, I'm pretty sure you can find my monsters if you look for threads by Zeal.
In fact, give me a bit of time and I can find those for you.
