Is it possible to use a wild empathy or diplomacy check against a magical creature with an intelligence of greater than 2? Can you use diplomacy at all, or do you just have to keep beating them until they die?

As far as I know, if wild empathy doesn't work on them, you can use diplomacy. The requirements for the target of diplomacy is that they're a non-player character.

So, by standard rules, a diplomacy check of 35 would make the tarrasque friendly? I'm just wondering what the rolls would have to be to be able to domesticate that thing enough to ride it.

I think you have to have some way of communicating with the Tarrasque in order to do that. He doesn't speak any langauge so it would be impossible to use diplomacy on him normally.

Good luck taking 10 consecutive full-round actions to talk to the guy.
