Are there Race creation systems?

I'm not very sure where to post this, so I'll post here.

My question is simple. Did someone else already make a sort of point-buy system to create your own race quickly?

If not, I'm going to create one.

A third party group made a point based alien race creation system. It's in The Game Mechanics' Future Player's Companion.

I've never used it though.

I've yet to read through it, but Savage Species is pretty much this.

Here's my best recommendation: put together what you think is your target LA (usually +0 is best), put it on the Homebrew fora, and wait for the commentary.

On Wizards' board, someone named YabaTheWhat came up with a feature point system for races.

There were a few things about it that I, personally, disagreed with, but overall it seemed pretty good.

I'll see if I can dig up a link. Try here, but Wizards' boards seem to be down for the moment. The latest version is near the end of the thread, I think.

Thanks. Now I'm deciding if I should try my hand at such a system, even though it exsists... Well, I am already going to try, but what do you think? Should I try to create one?

Go ahead. I just made one a day or two ago, it doesn't take to long

I'm currently busy creating one, but I am certain it will not cost 2 days, since I am trying to balance it looking at the Core races. It's hard :(.

Well don't foget flight or rules for multi armed creatures. There always left out.
