Build-A-Dragon Monster class! (Would anyone want this?)
Placing this idea out on the fields, how open would the playground be to an extensive subsystem of a 'Build your Dragon' racial class? It'd go from level 1-30, and would (hopefully) be balanced enough to play with others, and would cover every aspect of the Dragon, from literature to movie. Would anyone else like to see this?
This would be 3.X, sorry if that wasn't clear.Last edited by ShadowFireLance; 2014-05-09 at 03:13 PM.

Re: Build-A-Dragon Monster class! (Would anyone want this?)
i'm assuming this is 4E, since you're going to 30? you might want to specify.
78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. If you're one of the 22% that didn't, copy and paste this into your signature.
Where did you start yours?
The PCs were already a special forces type unit in a kingdom's military, so the campaign started in the general's office.

If it is 4e, maybe take some things from my recently finished Dragonfire Adept class?

I would love this, in fact I would be willing to help scrounge up dragon lore if needed. I haven't homebrewed in so long I think it'd be fun!
Come post a magic item to show that not all unique items are immensely powerful tools of the gods!

Re: Build-A-Dragon Monster class! (Would anyone want this?)
There was a really cool thread a while ago for Improved Monster Classes. I've not yet gotten to use it in a game, but the first post has a playable Red Dragon that I've been loving for a while now.

Oh trust me, you won't need to even look for a bit, I've read some of the rarest tomes on Draconic lore that we know of, and know pretty much ever Dragon type in existence.
I have always liked your stuff though, and your thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Build-A-Dragon Monster class! (Would anyone want this?)
i've done a build a dragon class before, for 3.5. it was only a 20 level class (in fact, this would be the first 30 level class i've seen), and was pretty much just based on D&D dragons, but here it is:

the first post is up to date, but the table is, of course, borked, since the thread is so old. it's obviously not what you are looking for, but it might be a decent place to start.78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. I would be interested in such a thing being made.
What format are you thinking? Dragonish classes? Evolutionist style with dragonish mutations? Point buying?

Re: Build-A-Dragon Monster class! (Would anyone want this?)
Arguably, all the PHB base classes are 30 levels long, and most of the core PrCs are 20 levels long. Even then, they all have rules for progressing beyond 30th level.
Epic progressions are win.
Anyway, I'd be kinda interested in doing this. I'm sure we could conjure enough stuff to make our dragon truly epic (and Epic).
