Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
So that new necklace is an artifact that splits a person into a wimp, an overconfident maniac, and himself... I could use this information...

Too bad the comic's last panel didn't end with a dramatic *DUN DUN DUN!* from Elan. :D

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
One cliffhanger would have been enough. Now we have to wait to see not only what the Order is going to do, but also what V's plan is. I'm pumped.
Thanks to Kalirush for the awesome Book avatar.

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
I would hope that would put the bed that lame theory that Redcloak just took lead of Team Evil and Xykon was so stunned that he is now cowering in submission. But, alas, I know the posters here too well.

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
Sweet. I wonder where the real Xylon is... also, I don't think the guy in the back is Xylon because he doesn't know who Roy is. Great comic, and I love the heroic defence of the Azure city soldiers.

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
Speculation: It has nothing to do with the amulets themselves, they're just color coated so Redcloak and the real Xykon can remember who is the wimp, who is the psychopath, etc.
Speculation: Perhaps none of the three are the real Xykon? We shall know soon.Current Characters:
- Drake Hightower, "the Famous Bard"
Human Bard (Lore) 13 / Cleric (Life) 1/ Warlock 2
- Bane Brigun, "Old Arcane Duelist"
Human Rogue 4 / Fighter 3 (BM) / Warlock 5 (GOO/Blade) (Arcane Duelist)
- Baston "Everstorm" Harkonax, "Dragon-Prince Returning Home"
Dragonborn Paladin (Vengeance) 6 / Sorcerer (Chaos) 10

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
That's a pretty big leap of logic. It could just as easily be that Redcloak selected two lackeys, one that's a coward and one that's a maniac, and cast illusions on both of them, and the amulets are just so we can tell them apart (or give some other magic defense so they don't get killed in 2 rounds).

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
I think the two fakes are aspect of Xykon's personality. His cowardness and his bloodlust. The one in the bact is real

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
If you look back a couple of comics, then Xykon is wearing the Orange amulet, so I want to bet on that one being the real one. Of course, this is just speculation, so. . .

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
You can use the amulets to figure out which one is the real Xykon. Just look back a few strips to see what he wears.
EDIT: Oops, by the time i wrote this, Xanadu had already said that.Last edited by Hasmik; 2007-03-14 at 10:52 PM.

Score one for the side that predicted the wimpy Xykon lookalike was a fake.

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
The back Xykon seems the most like him, but I do see some sort of personality splitting effect on the amulets.
Unless non of them are real. DUN DUN DUN!Thanks Uncle Festy for the wonderful Ashling Avatar

Re: OOTS #426 - The Discussion Thread
...
You have completely missed the point of that strip, haven't you? The Xykon in that strip, with the orange amulet, was a decoy, not the real Xykon. That explains why Redcloak suddenly bossed him around. We, the readers, just didn't know it yet.Last edited by SPoD; 2007-03-14 at 10:54 PM.

Giant, are we going to see a d20 write up of the amulets when this is over?
