I still hate 4e for having Devas instead.

Didn't they add in the Aasimar in 5e finally? Maybe I was dreaming.

Not in the PHB, I know they had Genasi again in the elements freebie book, but I don't know of any 5e Aasimar... Well except the one me and my little brother half-whipped up sans books and really I should finish, type, and post if they don't exist officially.

A quick use of google tells me they are in 5e Core, just not in the PHB. In a DMG excerpt posted on WotC's website, they have a page about creating a new race and the first bit of an Aasimar race, and... mostly it's what me and my little brother did (but we went Electricity Resistance due to tradition instead of Radiant and Necrotic).

WotC only ever pretends to like the tiefling. If you do direct comparisons it is obvious which one they prefer. They have a massive predisposition towards anything lawful good.

Tiefling stat modifiers aren't really noticeably worse than Aasimars' as Cha is a dump stat for most people. I guess Daylight edges out Darkness as a SLA, but the latter is easier to build around in my opinion. The only racial sub-levels available to either are the Incarnate ones, for which the Tiefling's are far superior. (I prefer to access them as a Changeling with Racial Emulation, but that's neither here nor there). What, in your opinion, do they do for Aasimar that they don't do for Tieflings? Most relevant feats that I'm aware of apply to planetouched in generality.

I'm still hoping to get an ACF or whatever, but as I haven't written anything for this particular thread myself, I don't suppose I really have the right to complain.

Personally I'm just still bitter that they changed the charming rogues that were tieflings from +Int/+Cha to having a Charisma penalty when most of the character concepts for them involve heavy investment in Bluff and Intimidate and other Charisma based skills.

And I got distracted making Exaggerated Skills. But I've now made a class that lets you use whips to swing around like Spider-Man, heal mental illnesses by talking to people, sense money, hold conversations with dead people, and make paper birds which scream when they see people. I don't think you should take the 5 new abilities I made together, but you could.

But I've now made a class that lets you use whips to swing around like Spider-Man, heal mental illnesses by talking to people, sense money, hold conversations with dead people, and make paper birds which scream when they see people. Level: 2.

Replaces: Skin of your Teeth.

Effect: When you are at less than 1/4th your maximum hp you double any bonuses you receive to skill checks due to items, up to increasing a bonus by +5 (so if you had an item which granted a +10 competence bonus it would grant +15, one which granted +5 would increase to +10, and Mw Thieves Tools would grant a +4 instead of a +2 while this was active). If you would gain Extended Skin of your Teeth the hit points you may have remaining for this ability to activate are increased as if it were Skin of your Teeth.

I... that... how does seducing someone work if I don't want to know a secret? So if I want to seduce someone I need to have my friend tell them something I don't know, and tell several other people, and... Did Gather Information really need this done to it?

Edit: By which I mean #301, which redirects me to Sword and Fist which gives no details beyond you can use Bluff to seduce someone (Dragon #301 added that you can use Diplomacy to Woo them). Welp, guess the only thing left to do would be to look at the books better left unmentioned and those are poorly designed 3rd party stuff and I think I'm going to stop here.

Wouldn't flirtation just be a Diplomacy check to influence NPC attitude? Then if the NPC opposes with their own Diplomacy check it becomes a contest of who can woo the other person more effectively

Which comes with the interesting assumption that the only way you can get someone to lie with you is to lie to them; but well, for WoTC employees that may well be truth in television.

That's why I liked #301's. Bluff could get someone to lie with you, sure, but it'd be short and sooner or later it'd all fall apart; see James Bond who couldn't keep a girl like how Honey Rider left him between Dr. No and the next book so it started with the spy all kind of depressed since he'd gotten dumped. Diplomacy could "woo" them implying a longer term relationship.
