It's there. Amazing double-take on Xykon's part.
I can't wait to hear arguments about the mechanics of it. :DAvatar by That Lanky Bugger&&&&Anwar Glissand, Human Druid/Rogue -- http://www.sylnae.net/3eprofiler/view.php?id=1608&&&&Dioji, her loyal wolf companion -- http://www.sylnae.net/3eprofiler/view.php?id=1683

I think this is the first OotS that has made me swear out loud. It was prefaced by "holy," just in case that helps.

Re: OOTS #449 - The Discussion Thread
I'm just surprised that this one didn't get saved to be the climactic multiple-of-50 strip on Wednesday. Hopefully that means there's something even more memorable in store for Episode #450.
You can call me Draz.

Round 2: ding Ding!!!
Well THAT changes the equation considerably, I haven't worked out all the math yet, but I can estimate the answer as, "You're Screwed".

Re: OOTS #449 - The Discussion Thread
You know, I've been away from the internet for several days, and I was afraid that I'd miss the new comic. Turns out, as soon as I got home, the new one was just up! What a pleasant surprise!
Oh, and you gotta love a room full of paladin ghost-martyrs!

Re: OOTS #449 - The Discussion Thread
I love ending panels with no word balloons. Things seem more powerful if left unsaid sometimes. I just loved Xykon's expression...
Anyway, I wonder if that's just the paladins who died today or if it is also all the paladins of the sapphire guard who have died over the years.
By the way, this was really good. Nice splicing.Proud dictator of the miko fan club

Re: OOTS #449 - The Discussion Thread
So, after Xykon steals all their essences...
Seriously, stat it out. They're only *starting* as ghosts, so we're talking base ghost levels. Xykon is a level 20 lich. Can they even get past his DR?

Re: OOTS #449 - The Discussion Thread
Wow! All three of these comics were all twists, and cliffhangers... First Xykon runs into a major sect of paladins, then he actually manages to kill them all, and then this? You are a master, Rich. XD I am thoroughly entertained.

Re: OOTS #449 - The Discussion Thread
Whoo Yeah!
(I normally write in proper words, even on the internet, but that was too good to miss out on).
I was in the crowd that disliked the last strip because it showed Xykon making a joke out of what should have been a significant scene. I take that all back, not least for the picture of Xykon in the last panel.
Genius.As cool as Jack Bauer(still)

hmm...Epic spectral paladin + at least 40 non-epic spectral paladins vs 1 Epic lich sorcerer (who probably doesn't have a lot of anti-undead spells in his spell selection)
Ohhhhh boy, this is gonna be FUN!!

Re: OOTS #449 - The Discussion Thread
Oops.
But wait, this can't be happening. Rich is an immature jerk who has a grudge against paladins, so he couldn't possibly have the Sapphire Guard avenge themselves, because that isn't nearly humiliating enough.

Re: OOTS #449 - The Discussion Thread
Even Redcloak didn't think the symbol on the rubber ball would work. I guess he's got a copy of the PHB too (or at least the SRD).
I assume meteor swarm and the like still affect ghosts?
Hey, wouldn't the ghosts still be insane? Or do mind effects like that go away when you die (the answer is obvious in the comic, I guess, but still ...)Last edited by moonbiter; 2007-05-07 at 06:40 PM. Reason: [Had another thought]
