    Default Entangle question

Party is in a tunnel, 40 feet below ground. Think mine tunnel, part carved rock, part dug earth. Druid wants to cast entangle to slow pursuit of party. How would you handle it? I know what I want to do but would like other DM opinions.

I would allow it because there are subterranean plants that exist to entangle the baddies. At only 40 feet below the ground, the roots from trees and such could come down from the ceiling as well.

Now, the stability of the mine tunnel might be in question after that spell.

I see no reason not to, unless there is specifically no available vegetation.
It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.

Maybe be a little more inventive, perhaps with the roots miraculously coming out of the earth, or parts of it turning into a softer mud that moves and grasps at those who pass it.
