I liked his writing for Nuklear Age better then 8-BT. Not that I dislike 8-BT of course.

Re: 8bit theatre
I used to enjoy 8bit, but now it just seems kind of tired. I stopped reading it a wee bit back. The characters really don't seem to have any depth anymore. They used to, but now they seem really two-dimensional. It's like Brian stopped caring as much. Black Mage is just a mage who is pissed off at his friends and in love with White Mage. And he's the most complex. Fighter is just a complete idiot. Thief is just a con artist. Red Mage is just delusional. They really have just become one personality trait each, as if they're in short supply. Their relationships have become rather weak.
However, I did verily enjoy earlier strips and I commend Brian on his past work.Age of Avarice - A homebrew SF setting featuring neo-colonialist humans and primitive aliens (offsite hosting)

Re: 8bit theatre
I love 8-bit. And I disagree on the char development bit. There has been alot more development of the personas in the comic recently.

Re: 8bit theatre
hmmm whats wrong with each character personifying one or two traits? that is one of the main reasons that its funny, i mean who other than the personification of supid could come up with sword-chucks?

Re: 8bit theatre
Enthusiasm combined with a penchant for swords can do wonders. Like this one character I made, magic jarred into some sort of golem and tried to use two double swords. I forget how that turned out but it seems like fodder for DM cruelty.

Re: 8bit theatre
I have actually come close to weilding Sword Chucks in a LARP.
Me: "If I use Poxer X to create an engery weapon, can I hurt myself with it?"
ST: No.
Me: In that case I will make a pair of . . .
ST: That's no you can't make Sword-chucks.If you find yourself watching Power Rangers and wonder how some characters got their powers and zords back for an anniversary episode, just assume they were restored off screen. They have 20+ seasons of team geniuses to call on.

Re: 8bit theatre
Nice, well currently i am working on obtaining m a set of sword-chucks in our D&D game, i just need to get me to a weaponsmith, my DM is a tad mad and has made me take an Exotic weapon prof. for it, but hey its worth it

Re: 8bit theatre
STABBITY DEATH!!!
this was used by me as a warcry in a game of Heroquest. i was a mage with an assassins dagger (always hits, enemy still gets a chance to block). for some reason, none of the enemies i faced (aside from the BBEG) successfully defended. it was awesome
if you dont know what heroquest is, just imagine D&D for ages 6+Man this thing was full of outdated stuff.

Re: 8bit theatre
I've been less a fan of 8-bit recently and assumed it was because the comic was going downhill... so I went back and read the first comics and realized that it's actually gotten a lot better.
Brian Clevenger is a more funny personality than his comic, and I laugh more consistantly at his newsposts than his comic.

Re: 8bit theatre
Hadoken!! ;D
Black Mage has the best lines.
"Everyone do the Black Mage; especially you White Mage!"
BM: "Amnesia Dust!"
RM: "Why is it black?"
BM: "Because it's gun powder!"
RM: "It's WHAT?"
BM: "See, you forgot already!"

Also, I love 8-Bit, the first webcomic I got into reading.
Since then I have a collection that could rival most regular comic fans.

Re: 8bit theatre
I like the comic (a healthy dose of cynical humour 3 times a week), but hate the community. Did you read their forums? 95% of posters there can be roughly put into one of these 2 categories:
1. OMG I <3 Blaek Mage he is like teh ub3r! i h0pe he killz Figter an Red Meg and makz hawt luv wif' Wite Mage!!!1eleven
2. I use the f word every sentence, which makes me the smartest person in the universe. Therefore, if you disagree with my humble opinions, you are a f%#$ing noob. Dude, I so rock, despite living in my parents' f%#$ing basement.

Re: 8bit theatre
Oh, god the Christmas Special made me laugh. 8-Bit, altogether, is great, I might have enjoyed some of the past strips better, but it's still going strong.
