    Thanks Giant!!!

I'm feeling lucky to have friends like Oona and Greyview too MitD. They truly are one of the best comedic duos.

From the looks of the faded background I think there are more doors than originally seen.

The question is are they magical or does he just like them? Could also just be an art upgrade transition so he didn't go straight from no shoes to shoes.

I'm also happy the roaches pointed out more buffing probably happens off screen...though I'm mildly curious at the mass resist acid. Did he prepare that multiple times to make them resistant to all elements or was there a genuine reason why he chose acid of all things.

There seems to be multiple different monsters per door, judging by all the different parts in the cauldron.

Possibly worth noting that Xykon is already immune to cold, lightning and fire.

Yes and maybe no (see SOD).

In this case? No because unlike Mass Resist Acid the lines of the spell did not go to him so he was not targeted.

If you look at the spell swirliness, it doesn't cover Xykon (but it does with the Acid resistance)

They would but that is why Redcloak didn't target them with it. You can tell by the tendrils of magic. The previous mass spells touched Xykon but the cure spell did not.

Mathematically speaking, unless they have actual information that can definitively narrow down the choices, Redcloak's strategy won't help. Random choice is as likely to yield the correct door.

Which means....Xykon's approach is actually correct. Or at least, more efficient since it takes less work to choose.

No wonder Greyview's so gloomy, if he's been getting dragged through that every day.

If you use a blood-based McGuffin in a campaign with a vampire PC, plan for what will happen when said PC sticks it in his mouth.

Well Redcloak suggested 'a logical search pattern' - he might have wanted a pattern to search more than one door a night (recruit locals, bring in some from Gobbotopia, hire adventurers etc).

Based on Xykon's comment about selecting roulette numbers in sequence (which also wouldn't help), I don't think that is what he meant.

He might be immune but is Redcloak, Oona, Greyview and The Monster in the Darkness immune or resistant? Elemental damage is common for AoE attacks so even if Xykon was tanking (which he probably isn't, I imagine they switch up walking order inside) they could still be hurt by elemental damage. I'm thinking that he does prepare it multiple times and precasts the ones the majority of the group isn't immune to.

Is "multidimensional stone" an actual thing in D&D? It seems a very interesting way to keep PCs from phasing through all your devious traps.

(Obviously no big deal if it isn't, just curious if this was based on an obscure rule I could leverage.)

I hadn't noticed the shoes! Knowing that Giant never misses a beat, I'm assuming these were looted from the dungeon... and we will discover during some critical battle.... or since we mention it here now he will change... and now we're saying that he will do the opposite... *brain explodes*

I do love the farming for materials though !
