Re: OOTS #354 - The Discussion Thread
My knowledge of Centipede comes from the easter egg on the oscilloscopes in the lab I TA in. But it was enough to illicit a grin.
I've never actually played D&D 3.x, so I had to look Natural Spell up... I don't like it. Should be a metamagic feat. You want to cast while in animal form? Fine, but you're gonna have to burn higher-level slots to do it.This space intentionally left blank.

heh. Brilliant comic Giant, keep up the fantastic work. Also, I like how Julia doesn't know if V is a girl or a boy either. It's like no one knows but OOTS.
Good job. :)"Woooo! Door is fixed! All hail Door, King of Doorland! Go Elan! Go Elan! I'm Useful!"

Re: OOTS #354 - The Discussion Thread
New comic is up.
Thor's Might! If Durkon can keep Leeky-Bear busy until V is back in commission, there will be a reckoning.
V'll need to get back in action fast.

Re: OOTS #354 - The Discussion Thread
Cool comic! Thor's Might was predicted by many in the last comic's discussion thread, but it was great to see it in action again and Durkon kicks ass!
The Centipede panel got a guffaw out of me; gotta luv it. For those of you who don't know about the game, someone in the thread has already linked to a Wikipedia entry about it. But you may also want to look over its entry at the Killer List of Video Games website. KLOV is the perfect site to wax nostalgic about old quarter-snatchers.
And no, I don't work for that site. I work for a DVD news site, though. :)

Re: OOTS #354 - The Discussion Thread
Only casting two magic missiles is nnot really an indicator of Julia's level. As has been pointed out, those might merely be the only combat spells she had prepared. Additionally, there might have been more spellcastings "between panels".
And it may be that, because she was kidnapped while at school, the majority of her slots were left open in order to memorise and practise whatever spells her teachers were teaching that day.

So what about duration. Durkon can't stay in this form forever...
Unless V is healed before Durkon's spell ends, I really think Durkon is going to lose this little battle.

Re: OOTS #354 - The Discussion Thread
I especially liked the use of the game panel in the middle to break up the other panels. I think Rich does a great job of breaking up the view of his comic to tell his stories w/o being limited by the space of a single panel.
As for the comic itself, I'm ready to see what everyone else is up to. Like whether Belkar has found the city limits yet.
