I reckon the MITD will only be revealed in the final splash panel of the final comic, at which point it will be revealed as consisting of only a hovering pair of yellow eyes.

Well, back in 469, he was smiling without any eyebrows while he talked about Skullsy. He didn't get an eyebrow line until he said "Emergency chamber pot..." And incidentally, me and my kids agree that when he's wearing his little hood, he looks SO FRICKIN' CUTE that we can barely stand it.

Belkar said he'd been cooking for ten minutes but they played a whole game of monopoly?

Well he did have to hunt and kill the food first. Then pluck it, wash it, remove the intestines and so forth, rub any herbs and spices he may want into the skin... preperation, it all takes time. :D

Conclusion: MitD is predisposed to let them go and not tell Xykon he even saw them. It probably wouldn't even take that much convincing. Why go to the trouble of devouring them if no one knows you had the opportunity? Plus, have you ever tried to get motivated on a full stomach? I'd rather take a nap.

Problem: The Demon Roaches will talk.

Solution: Mama Bitterleaf's Special Ingredient. MitD makes the Fortitude save (or is immune to poison), but the roaches roll badly.

Afterthought: It isn't like Xykon is going to destroy, or even really punish, his "secret weapon" for letting them go. On the one hand, it would be tactically bad to ruin an "advantage", and on the other, he just wouldn't care that much.
