Re: OOTS #476 - The Discussion Thread
I don't think Rich particularly cares for that book series.
Which makes two of us.

Re: OOTS #476 - The Discussion Thread
No, it's an expression of his enjoyment with what he likes. All the subtle nuances and the exploitation of rules and such is just the mark of a lifelong gamer who really gets a kick out of the game.
That strip pointedly made biting satire out of the entire Harry Potter genre and then ended up mercilessly killing the Harry Potter doppleganger.
Totally different.

Re: OOTS #476 - The Discussion Thread
The Giant included some brief comments on that in No Cure For The Paladin Blues, specifically saying that he bothered to parody them because he likes them (the movies more than the books). He also mentions hate mail from some of the more humorless Harry Potter fans who made a Mikoesque jump to the conclusion that the joke was some sort of nasty attack.

Re: OOTS #476 - The Discussion Thread
Deathly Hallows is out already? Haven't been paying attention. Well, I can see the possibility of the book being responsible for delays, then.
And I think the apron idea is awesome. I'd buy it if I ever used an apron. Is it a bad sign when the team cleric decides
he wants to burn the peasants?

Yeah, I play WoW.
