Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
When Pete says he's wanted to say something like this to "one of Annie's characters" for a long time, I took it to mean he wanted to say it to either Anakin or Darth Vader.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Am I the only one now betting that ghosts are going to play a bigger part in the story? I wonder if Luke is already going to be dead when Rey tracks him down?

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
In the movie, I honestly don't remember
Spoiler: Episode VII maybeis the girl in this flashback young Rey?
Whatever the answer is in the movie, I have a feeling it will be different in the comic.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Spoiler: FilmsThis is the basis for her entire subplot for three movies.
Honestly, I wouldn't be 100% shocked if Rey is the adoptive daughter of Princess and Yanni, and is actually the granddaughter of Palpatine. I'm trying to work out if Palpatine mentioned having a kid during the first three campaigns. It would ft much more neatly than in the films, if Palpatine's kid is born during his career as a senator then they're definitely old enough to be Rey's parent.
Although if they go this route and they keep Kylo Ben as the biological son of Princess and Yanni I really hope they edit the romance out. Still ick.
Although I'm not sure if that counts as different.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
New comic
So death sticks help with (force) visions then.
Maybe Rey should pick some up then. Might be helpful.
Assuming she's going to keep/use the sword of course."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

I'm pretty sure that's not what's going on here.
I think it's more like

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Hang on, where do we get the concept of Anakin becoming the Moon Ghost?
In the movie, there is no Moon Ghost and Anakin is. Spoilers for episode ... umm ... V? VI? of the movies? I'm going to assume our regular spoiler-free people are up to date on that though...Spoiler: No, Luke, I am your father.Darth Vader
In comic, didn't Chewie just say that the Moon Ghost was probably Nute Gunray? Isn't the description of the Moon Ghost, which only came up a few comics ago, perfectly consistent with what we know of Nute Gunray? Where do Anakin and Padme and midichlorians have to do with it?I'm pretty much the opposite of concise. If I fail to get to the point, please ask me and I'm happy to (attempt to) clarify.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
The Moon Ghost was "Old Man Gunray" according to Darth Vader, but Palpatine was also being haunted by Anakin's force ghost, which is where I believe the confusion is coming from. The two are separate phenomena (as far as we know), but I can totally see mixing up the names.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Oh sure, go for the sensible explanation
Plus I honestly didn't quite get where/who Anakin was haunting. I got it in my head Anakin was the Moon Ghost since before the Rogue One adaptation, because as far as we knew then he was an (effective) ghost haunting the (second) Peace Moon, and part of my brain refuses to get that that was the defence station.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
I also just noticed (or maybe re-noticed) that the opening crawl for episode VI says the Empire is constructing "a new armored battle station," but doesn't say they are making a second Peace Moon.
Which fits with the Episode VII reveal that that was no moon.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
It's a new armored battle station that's stronger than the first Peace Moon, but that doesn't mean that the second Peace Moon is the armored battle station. It's a great piece of misdirection by the Irregulars. And the Temple of Dome is probably some location coming up too. (don't tell me)
Here's the Peace Moon reveal and the haunting for anyone wanting a reread. I'm fairly decent at finding things while writing my commentary, but I should probably reread again at some point too .If you want a OotS style Touhou avatar, send me a request.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
So Harry Potter exists in the Darths and Droids universe?

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
137ben: yes, that's one of the very few things we know definitely about the alternate universe without Star Wars where the players live, because the annotation of #50 says “The Comic Irregulars exist and are making a screencap comic based on Harry Potter.”
Update: the players have also made other references to Harry Potter.Last edited by b_jonas; 2021-08-10 at 12:57 PM.

I'm amused by the increasingly convoluted take on Eurythmics' 1983 hit song lyrics.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
In the Darths & Droids universe do you think that they would stop at the original films or would they include Fantastic Beasts as well?

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Probably stop at original films. The follow on movies are nowhere near as iconic or quotable so it fails the test both ways. The Irregulars are unlikely to put in the jokes because people won't recognize the reference, and the in-universe group wouldn't quote them because they aren't meme-worthy.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
My bet is planned out.
My guess is that it most likely exists, and the Webcomic Irregulars have begun their take on integrating it into their webcomic, but it's not iconic enough to come up in the comic.
What I want to know is, considering we know that SF never became as popular in the D&D universe, did Doctor Who ever get a revival? Which reminds me, I actually had an idea for a Doctor Who campaign comic myself, maybe I should actually work on that.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
No. We never decide titles before making strips. And we never write/alter strips to fit potential ideas for titles. Every strip is finalised before we ever decide on a title for it. When they line up as nicely as this, it's good fortune, and the ability to modify a potential title to fit what's in the strip.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
So I'm guessing Corey's have was either Voltron or Power Rangers b/Super Sentai going by the new information. Mainly because I don't know how many mecha make up Voltron.

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
Okay, what exactly did Pete do?
Betray everyone so he could have the big mech to himself?
Knowing him he would try to find a way to remote control the component mechs or something like that."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Re: Darths & Droids IV: Not in Numerical Order
"Gentle Giant" mechanic fits Hunk. "Cocky Joker" fits Lance. This is more evidence in my "obviously Voltron" pile. As for the "giant robot of pete's own", there is one that shows up in nutron, but it ends up being piloted by the evil prince dude.
Spoiler: "season 5 of nutronThe princess helps him build it.
If it is Power Rangers, then I remember a white ranger getting his own giant robot. Beyond that I can't say much; I never got in to that show.
