I love Tordek and Mialee and Regdar, Jozan and Lidda, the whole gang, but I realize its almost entirely because of the PHB PSAs.

Search youtube, it's a video joke thing some guys did where they pretend to be characters from the PHB. If you don't care for swears/sexually suggestive stuffs, I don't suggest it.

According a 4E preview article on the Wizards page, elves in 4E are going to be the more nature-oriented type. In 3.x, they're trying to fill two roles simultaneously - defenders of the ancient forest, and yet also defenders of ancient arcane lore. According to the article, the "nature" part is going to elves, while the "arcane" part may be given to their relatives the eladrin (which may or may not be anything like they're 3.x namesakes, especially considering the article says they're fans of "reason, intellect, [and] debate."

So really, I can't see Mialee joining us as a 4E Iconic character. That is, unless the article is misleading (and elves will still prefer to be wizards) or she's rebuilt as an eladrin (whatever that is).

I, for one, would not mind keeping some of the Iconics. I'd like to see at least Krusk, Gimble, and Lidda stick around.

That's the user who made all the PHB PSA's. There's two or three unrelated videos too, but it's all the PSA's.

As for mialee, meh. We might have to expect an iconic Eladrin Wizard for 4E. Also, I'm predicting the female tiefling rogue to be the most controversial attractivenesswise. :)

They've released an illustration of a human, dwarf, halfling and elf who are presumably a stab at new Iconics. The elf appears to be an arcane caster, and is quite attractive. She's probably not a reimagined Mialee, though, as she's blonde.

Well, that's good to hear. I don't know why 3rd Edition thought elves should have Down's Syndrome as a defining feature.

But otherwise yeah, I was shocked by how ugly Mialee was presented everywhere (and yes she dumped charisma but charisma 9 doesn't equal a frickin ghoul) so I really hope that she will be remade for $th edition. The players deserve it, so far the only illustration made of more fail is the Complete Mage Cover.
