An X-files parody. The one who's certainly not Dana Scully is called Agent Cranium (haha, because the cranium is the main part of the skull...y, get it? get it?) and the one who's definitely not Fox Mulder is Agent Wolf (haha, fox and wolf, get it? get it?)

Thanks, I actually meant the ones he talks about in panel 5. He speaks of enlisting friends who know about immortals, but I don't know who he could have meant: maybe Adrian, but I don't think he actually called him (I mean, they talked on the phone, but I don't think it got anywhere).

My hypothesis is, he actually has some friends among immortals or other beings who know a lot about them as it was well established he has a high social position in the supernatural world regardless of his official job to the point, where it was impossible to fire him.

Grace tells Tedd she won't kiss Sarah while he's watching. Grace tells Sarah she won't kiss her unless Tedd is watching. I think it's pretty clear Grace is playing, but why? Boredom? Feeling slightly neglected? Curiousity?

Grace's internal monolog back in "Secret of Sam" established that Grace would find the idea of her, Tedd, and Sarah(and Ellen) living in a big house and all sleeping together on a giant bean bag and constantly having friends over for slumber parties as an ideal situation.

Clearly Grace is finagling for the "harem" route of this incredibly lengthy and concluded dating sim in order to magnify the chances of that happening.

Thought: Luke has a spell that lets him see people's magical power expressed as an Aura and Greg can just flat out sense Power Levels.

All the scary noisy wand seems to do is check if someone is Awakened or not. Power Levels™ are a different thing. Grace hasn't Awakened, but Greg sensed her Power Level™ was super high, after all, and Luke sees a massive magical aura around her.

No, it also senses magical energy and potential: Remember, they were testing Tedd for whether or not he was a wizard, but he coudlnt' possible have been awakened as a baby.

...So, going by the latest NP and it's commentary, Jay probably isn't a bad guy... So... But she's probably not part of Luke's group becuase she's a wizard and knows of Tedd, and so is probably knows enough to tell them what they're looking fo and...

...she's totally gonna turn out to be a cool but socially awkward person who just wants friends, isn't she?

So.....is the NP canon? I get the feeling that it didn't start out intending to be canon, but I don't get why it would have this characterization of Jay if it wasn't canon. Getting to know Jay overtime to figure out if she is friend or foe should be a plot point and not something done in non-canon material. Because of this it feels like the plotline exists to explain how a story like this COULD be canon.

It is not currently canon. That could change in the future, or it could not. It could also be declared pseudo-canon, where the story is non-canon, but Jay's characterization within the story is canon.
