    "Slunt?"

Come on, Mookie. That one's not even a bad word. Though, I guess I should just be happy that he didn't use "zlut."

Its TWO bad words in one. Thats what makes it futuristic. Also, Black Hole Bill has demonstrated that a powerful enough gun can at least hurt her. But did you expect stable reasoning from roid raging gym bro gangsters?

I personally think its at least on par with "Sounds like a swear, just spelled different" Considering thats what 10 year olds do to try and elicit a reaction from mom. "No mom I said god ram it! You cant ground me since I didnt swear!"

I don't know, he might be on to something. You can write slunt without getting censored, but it's obvious a (possible) insult. It just needs enough context as insulting language, and a more precise meaning. Either as synonym for either the s- or c-word, or something new.

Good job, Danica. You'll really make those murderous slavers feel bad by calling them bullies. Now, they're going to go home and rethink their lives.

Remember, in the Mookieverse "bully" is probably the worst crime ever.
In fact, it's such a bad word it's usually referred to as "The B word", or maybe "Bulzy" in Star Power.

If he actually leaned into that, and literally has the gangsters break down in tears next page, that would be the best thing ever. The problem is that Mookie bullies are so evil that they like being bullies. Thus, there will be no real reaction to the comment. So, even if there is a meta explanation for it, it still just comes off as dumb in story.

Well, she does have the moralizing part down. Doesn't quite have the banter, though, so she'll need to work on that one.

Also ... shotgun? It fires what looks like an energy beam. Heh.

You could actually see this weird behaviour during the comic. He slept with Grex, who was alive. A living person is basically just a dead person in training. And they also felt a certain kinship. Like brother and sister, just with different DNA.
Going back to this, the Detective felt horny when Grex threatened the Godfather that, unless he helped, she would kill his son on the spot.

So maybe becoming like the bad guys is a matter of sexual arousal?

That's either a cross dressing detective, or they roped a prostitute in to help them because that isn't Grex.

Mama Hotbed, freaking Mama HOTBED?! Really?! That would be the lamest pimp name ever on EARTH. As for whats going on, I think its either blackmail with a recording device, or a suicide bomb. The pressing of the buttons strikes me as a timer thing as it would be really strange to wait till the last second to turn on your recording device. And that LOOKS like a clock. Im not sure who the officer is clicking it, but on second glance its not mama *snerk* hotbed.

The officer is Grex. You know, the officer. That's why I said the woman in the dress had to be the detective in drag.

I mean maybe? The officer doesnt look like grex, the girl doesnt look like the detective in drag either. And thats an honestly bizarre idea for them to mutually crossdress for a disguise. But either way, whatever they just activated is on a 5 minute timer. Thats probably not good. Maybe this is to disable to entirely corrupt branch of the police until the big names can make it here?

The visible facial markings match between the Detective and the prostitute, while the policeman could be Grex, but has slightly different markings (lacks the top dot on the forehead).

EDIT: the officer also lacks the mark on Grex's cheekbone.

When you put it like that, it's the most realistic part of the comic so far.

To be fair, we knew her name for a while.

Maybe it's just our human perspective. Humans are known to be very violent; so I guess they would have the coolest crime names.

Slightly more important than the name (not by a lot): Didn't they at least suspect Mama might be working with Smith? Wasn't this the reason the place was under surveillance, which caused Grex to come out with the distraction plan, you know, what stated the entire "let's call Danica" ball rolling?

Children. Those poor criminals are dealing with children.

I can just imagine how the conversation went before they split up:

Smith - Okay, we handle the cop, you go to rescue the informant.

Bruke - Right away! I'll just make a quick stop for a pizza.

Smith - Pizza?! The guy is in danger, he can be traced and killed every minute now!

Bruke - But... it's a pizza... Besides, if it makes you feel better, think of it as me going to buy an improvised weapon in case we get attacked.

Smith - This makes no sense unless you are a mutant with a shell, have martial arts skills. and a teenager.
But why am I wasting time, you're just going to stop for a pizza regardless of what I say, right?

    Bruke - .... Maaaaybe...

Smith - (God darn it, I'm surrounded by Danicas)
