Also check out Complete Mage for character options and such.
Personally, I throw out all of the fluff for warlocks and make it so long as you make a blood pact with some "higher power" (Fey, elementals, demons, etc.), you're a warlock.Libras D'lnar avatar by CSK

This is a great idea. Especially with the right heritage feats. This makes for great fluff.

Well, Complete Arcane does mention that one can become a warlock by making pacts with Fey. I think that explains the "Chaotic Warlocks" part.
