The world begins to go dark, as you feel your arms raise the gun, Obey Thy Master's Will but not towards Corbitt, instead towards Obey Thy Master's Will Lois, whose face goes wide in terror as she screams. "NO IZZY DON'T!" And you pul-

Your finger hovers over the trigger a millimeter from it, twitching. You see the undead face of Corbitt contorted in concentration and frustration. As the darkness is suddenly pushed back from your field of vision and the voice fades.

You make your declaration as Lois lunges forward, and tries to snatch the pendant, but she's ever so slightly frazzled from what just occurred a couple of seconds prior and her timing is off, but luckily she ducks the incoming swipe of Corbitt's claws.

Lois attempted the same fighting maneuver as you, but got a Failure (an 86), luckily Corbitt also got a Failure for his Fighting Back (a 77) so all is ok.
----

Once more, we return to Yitzhak's turn, still clutching the gun, as you spot an opening to do... well... something.

Izzy tries desperately to make sense of all the pieces. “pettinato!” He shouts to Lois. “Try it with the one you have, but we may need the one we trapped!”

And with that, Izzy jumps aside and scrambles for the passageway, heading toward the trash can lid

Lois nods, meanwhile Corbitt squints, and gives off a menacing growl, unsure of exactly what "Pettinato" means, or how it relates to his knife. However, perhaps he thinks you're running away, you... can't really tell as all of his facial expressions read: "I'm going to kill you, foolish mortal."

Something very lucky for you is that Corbitt actually used his turn to try and force you to Obey Thy Master's Will, so he doesn't actually get a turn (or get to control his knife away from your possession).
----

Lois then takes her own knife and tries to cut into him once more, hoping that maybe her knife would work, "Hugurk" only for Corbitt's claws to finally find their mark. Lois looks down to find that she now has four sharp gashes in her clothing, blood spurting out of them. As surprise falls on her face, she just barely manages to cling on. Luckily she did not appear to get any of the dirt from underneath Corbitt's grimy claw-like fingernails in there, but that's definitely going to need to be checked out.
----

Lois attacked, but got a Failure (an 85), meanwhile Corbitt fought back and got a Success (a 31) which means that he hit her for 5 damage (she's not doing well, at all). Luckily she got a Success (an 18) for her Luck, which means really bad stuff did not occur. It's not Yitzhak's turn once more.

Izzy runs over to the trash can lid, pushes off the wood, picks up the lid, and tries to grab the knife.

If he’s able to grab it, he’ll run back over. He’ll keep the lid as a makeshift shield; unless is slows him down much in squeezing back through to the fight.

Noticing what your doing, as you charge into the fray with "shield" in hand. Walter Corbitt lashes out, releasing a horrid withering growl from the back of his "throat." Meanwhile, Lois looks weakened, bloody, and doing her best to stay standing. However it is quite clear that she'll probably collapse soon. Corbitt's claws then fly through the air, hoping to reach past your scraps of defense.

Please give me a Hard Dodge or an Extreme Fighting (Brawl) depending on whether or not your goal is to dodge or fight back (Corbitt got a Hard Success with his Fighting [Brawl] attack [a 23]). If you decide to dodge you get the bonus die from using the garbage can lid.

Then, also make the Fighting (Brawl) roll should you choose to stab him. He has already Fought Back so it can be made with a Bonus Die.

Izzy sees the claws coming for him, and tries to knock them away with his trash can lid.

Once more, the jeering, withered, grating laughter comes again. So far controlling them has proved innefective, so instead he can just rip them to shreds himself! All the while, Lois looks on and suddenly has an Idea. She takes one or two steps back, and then leaps forward with what little strength she has left. "I'M TAKIN' YA' DOWN!" Corbitt's laughing stops as he was clearly not expecting such an action and instead is shoved to the floor. As Lois looks up at Yitzhak pleadingly. "NOW IZZY! DO IT NOW!"

Lois executes a Maneuver with a Fighting (Brawl) Hard Success (an 18), whereas Corbitt's defense with his own Fighting Back is a Failure (a 68). Thus, Corbitt is knocked to the ground. This means any attack made against Corbitt has an additional Bonus Die. Speaking of which, it's your turn.

Corbitt, realizing the situation he's been placed into tries to get up, but the shove is too much and by this point, Lois is bearing down on him. Therefore with his unnatural strength, he grabs her and flips her over onto the table. Escaping from that position, cackling all while the Rabbi-turned Journalist struggles to land his blow.

Corbitt exacted his own Maneuver to escape from being crushed by Lois, and Succeeded on the Fighting (Brawl) roll (a 43 and a 2 on the penalty die because Lois is one Build Size larger than him). Lois, meanwhile tried to Dodge out of the way, but Failed (a 58).
----

Right as he gets up and faces Yitzhak, the mad cackling growing in volume, all of his malice and hate so focused on Yitzhak that he doesn't notice as Lois, bloody, battered and bruised, gets up off the table and takes his legs out from under him. "JUST DO IT IZZY!" She screams all the while, tackling Corbitt once more to the earthen floor.

Welp, repeating the same thing Lois got a Hard Success (an 18) whereas Corbitt only got a Success on his Fight Back (a 31) thus, he's once again pinned to the floor. However it's only a matter of time before he tries to kill her instead of focusing on the wielder of his knife.

Corbitt easily dodges your strike once more, as Lois gives another glance, her face is now fearful, she's not sure how much longer she can last. Corbitt wrenches Lois off of himself and using the glance as an opportunity, pins her instead. From there he stands ready, a wicked grin covering his features as he is now fully capable once more. Thus, her survival instincts kick in, who cares about some ritual or rambling. You kill things by stabbing or shooting them. Even smashed against the cot, she struggles with the undead Corbitt and stabs him through the chest, and yet, Corbitt keeps on fighting. There's a slight grimace there, but Corbitt simply places one hand upon Lois, pinning her to the ground, and then turns his red glowing eyes on Yitzhak.
----

To once more escape, Corbitt gets a Success on his Fighting (Brawl) (a 45 and a 1 on his penalty die for being one Build Size smaller), against Lois' Fumble for her Dodge (a 97). Thus Corbitt ends up pinning her, giving her a Penalty Die on all of her actions.
Lois then stabs Corbitt with a Success on her Fighting (Brawl) (a 44 and a 3 for the penalty die) against Corbitt's Failed Fighting Back (a 90). Thus she hits for 6 damage. It is now Yitzhak's turn.

Corbitt, staring at Yitzhak, bats his hand away as the strike comes in for him. As his claw-like fingernails then turn towards Lois. He slashes down upon the cot, but Lois just barely manages to duck out of the way.

Corbitt Fails (a 71) his Fighting (Brawl) whereas Lois Succeeds (a 21) her Dodge roll.
----

However, when it comes time for Lois to make her own strike, the eyes turn, just for a moment towards her. As she buckles from the fear. "I... I... Help... M-" Her face looks past Corbitt towards you as the knife falls from her grasp and Corbitt rakes into her.
----

Lois made Failed (an 8... followed by a Penalty Die roll of 8) her Fighting (Brawl) roll whereas Corbitt got an Extreme Success (a 6) for his Fighting Back and thus dealt 6 damage. This is a Major Wound for Lois (equal to or more than half of her health) which means that she is now Dying.
She also fails her Luck roll.

HE HA H A HE HEHE The cackling face then turns you as its bright red eyes fall upon you, the knife, and your garbage can.

The eyes glare at you, the smile ever-present, as his hand lifts, you feel the knife suddenly tug, and you know what that means. However, you fight against his grip, against his power, for Lois, for all of the people's lives this... thing has ruined. HAHAHAH-

He looks down. There is a knife implanted in his chest, as slowly, ever so slowly the light from the eyes flickers. Corbitt lets out an unearthly scream as his body begins to peel itself away, layer by layer, with what falls turning into nothing but ashes and dust. The pendant and the knife clatter to the floor as there is nothing left of Walter Corbitt, Esq..

Lois has Succeeded (a 13) her Constitution roll, but she's still dying, so she'll need a First Aid roll in order to not die.

'Oh no... oh no.. this is bad!!' Deirdre thinks. She hears the screams...

Finally overcoming her fear with the stark realization that Yitzhak and Lois were in serious trouble, she briefly forgets about her own safety and runs into the house.

"Izzy! What happened?!" she yells from the hallway, near the cellar door.

There's nothing but inky blackness and a set of stairs leading down into the cellar. The stairs themselves are in obvious disrepair, in fact, in several portions it appears as if the stairs have literally collapsed in some places. An electric light above the stairwell is currently dark. Deirdre does however, notice a bit of frayed rope hanging from a post which was most likely at one time some sort of support system but is now broken.

Please give me a Combined Dexterity and Climb roll with a Bonus Die (because you have a Size of 40) where only one must succeed to see if you can notice a path down (I'm not saying that you're going to go down, more just trying to notice a route).

Also for reference, Zene, Deirdre just heard someone yell "Lois! NO!" followed by an unearthly scream of pain.

Izzy yells, “Deidre! We defeated Corbitt! But Lois is hurt, really bad! I’m trying to stop the bleeding, but it’s not going well!”

Deirdre is shocked and amazed by this. "Oh.. uh.. wow!! What can I do?! Should I call for help or..??"
