Pilots look up because the skies are a busy place and there might well be other aircraft up there. People riding flying mounts in a quasi-mediaeval setting (albeit one with airships) probably aren't going to be expecting that so much.

It is, in short, a prototypical American film. But it does have catchy tunes and since it is a musical, that is all that really matters. Like with opera before it, the plot is mostly incidental. It'd be like complaining about the lack of depth and terrible message of The Magic Flute or The Barber of Seville or Carmen. You'd be kinda missing the point.
Impressive comment there, for being so succinct and on the mark.

Thank you. I very much appreciate your words. I tend to aim for succinct and often feel I horribly missed the target, so it is a genuine pleasure to hear.

I dunno. Someone who has to fly regularly, exposed on a flying mount, has better reason than most to keep a weather eye open. They don't have to be as concerned about solid objects in their airspace, but weather affects them more, compared to a modern pilot.

It's cute that Blackwing wants the potion seller to give them a discount on potions instead of the regular price. Whereas Haley wonders why the potion seller isn't selling the potions for highway prices instead.

I don't know if it's that so much as flight training beats into you a healthy respect for, and therefore interest in, the weather. You are very small, and the wind and clouds can be very, very great. Boaters are often the same way.

There can be zero traffic overhead, and I'll still look at the clouds, try to figure what the weather's likely do soon, do I need to take it into account for future plans, and so on. Plus, clouds are often really pretty. Especially from other angles besides underneath.

It's just a habit you get into. I thought Oona might have too. (Though Greyview wouldn't, because what would be the point? The clouds will rain on you whether you look at them or not, and if they're not raining right now? They will be soon.)

    Raaaaaaaaainn! I don't mind!

Also, great point you just made in your last post, Fyraltari.

Also also, nice and symptomatic how Andromeda is on the background. Basically, giving the captain she mutinied against for zero reason a wide berth.

I figured it out with some testing and found it a bit weird, because its a derivative of a word that one might expect to be censored and is perfectly fine to say in the forums and is also found in this very comic.

I'm deliberately keeping this in black text, as I reasoned it out years ago and have not actually confirmed it with anyone:

The website has four areas - News, Comics, Forum, and Shop. The Forum Rules seem to only apply to one area - the Forum. Which, conveniently enough, is the only place where anyone who is not Forum Staff can post.

Well, like I said, I'm keeping this in blacktext because I'm talking as regular ol' Peelee sharing a personal theory I came up with years ago. And I don't even know how one would even begin to flame the shop. Now, all that being said, I do feel pretty safe in making one particular official pronouncement...

Well this forum was not created by scratch. It was created by vBulletin, and the devs simply modified it to fit their own needs. That's how the vast majority of online forums work.

So I'm assuming that the dictionary used to determine what words should be censored was also created by vBulletin, and the Giant decided that he did not want to have to check this dictionary every time he used a bad word in the comic to make sure it can also be used on the forum. Which isn't a bad decision: when Rich uses a divisive word like that, he is 100% in control of the context in which that word is used, but if he allows everyone on his forum to use it, then there is an extremely large probability that it will eventually be used to hurt others.

The way I see it, Rich can be trusted to know were the line is, but no-one would trust every single forum member to know that, or else we wouldn't need Mods. Besides, he pays the bill. He can swear in his own house if he wants to.

More importantly, though, you have to remember that the filter is not really a censor, more like a first line of defence
